Krithika coyly smiled and tried to pull her left hand out of Xavier's light grip. He held her, his left hand admiring her ring finger, his thumb lovingly tracing the stunning ring he had slipped on her finger last night when she claimed him to be hers.

He had finally proposed to her in his poetic pioneering way and she had screamed 'yes' several times in the throes of their bliss. She never in her life had thought that a proposal could be so passionately intimate that she would feel euphoric for being in love.

Yes, it wasn't just sex. Xavier had emptied his heart to her.

His eyes had been the beautiful mirror to his soul as he had murmured, "What should I offer you, the moon and stars and all of the universe? But they already reside within the depths of your beautiful eyes. How shall I promise the lies, shouldn't my love be as pure as yours?"

"Yes..."

"Should I offer you all the wealth of this world? But you find them worthless, you say that you want to earn everything from your hard work. Now, what shall I do with that stubborn heart of yours, other than admire it each day?", he had chuckled, "Won't it be a lie, if I say that I don't marvel at how much of 'Raangi' you are?"

She had softly slapped him for being called arrogant but had agreed to him, "Yes..."

"Should I offer you my lust, my trust, my love, and my life? But your tiny hands have already captured them long back, haven't they, my Kanmani?"

"Yes..."

"Should I promise you a life long of happiness? But aren't you the one who is my happiness? Won't it just be me being humbly grateful for your presence in my life?"

"Yes..."

"Kanmani, the poet in me could only be alive for you, will you be his inspiration for life?"

"Yes..."

"The pioneer in me now wants to ask you something.", kissing her he had asked, "I won't be able to promise you anything, for I am nothing without you, so please marry me and make me yours. Would you be so philanthropic, Krithika?"

She had sobbed, crying in happiness, and had nodded, accepting his proposal for her, "Yes, Xavier, a thousand times yes."

And he had put a ring on it, binding her vena amoris to his heart. He had entered her at the same moment in one swift move, a guttural groan escaping out of his sweet mouth, "I am the luckiest man in this universe, Krithika, so fucking lucky.", closing his eyes he had dipped down to bury his head in between her bust.

"Yes, you are and I love you.", she had affirmed, screaming in pleasure and arching her back, allowing him to love her.

Even if she wanted to, she would never forget that moment. It was now imprinted deep into her mind, only a horrid dementia could dare to delete it, if possible.

Shifting on his lap she mumbled, "Xavier...", and freed her hand out of his, wrapping his arms across her stomach.

"Yes, my love?", she felt a steady rhythm of his breathing behind her head and sighed. It always comforted her, to know that he was calm and at peace when he was with her.

She swallowed a big lump and continued, "I... I am a bit scared about..."

Yes, she loved him as much as he did, there was no doubt, it was the truth of her life. But then, she had a family, her parents, and her lovely brother, whom she couldn't ever overlook. How was she going to make them understand about this? Would they consent to it? Would they ever witness Xavier's love for her and accept him?

Her father, who had always been firmly sexist and casteist, would he agree to her being tied to a Christian fellow? And what about her mother, would she permit her only daughter to be wed to a much older guy?

And what of her brother, Karthik, would he hug Xavier and accept his love and care?

She was terrified, too scared to face her family.

Xavier kissed the back of her head, "I'll talk to them, you don't need to worry."

"You don't know about my father, he's--"

He cut her, "Does it matter to you, Krithika?", he added, "Does it matter that they support our relationship? For us to get married?"

She turned around and looked at his face, "They are my parents, I desire that they try and understand me for once.", she sighed, "They should see how delighted I am with you, that I want nothing but you."

"Hmm..."

"If nothing, I want Karthik to be with me when I marry you, to love you the way he does me because my brother deserves a Mama like you and because you deserve to have him in your life.", she shook her head, vexed by herself, "I have been a shitty sister, Xav, so fucking bad, but I want my little brother to experience at least your love, to bond with you and see that his sister is not half bad as she projects herself to be with him."

"Hmm..."

"But--"

Placing his fingers on her lips he shut her and smiled, his dimples melting her heart like always, "I promise, that if Karthik loves you, genuinely, he will be there for you when we marry, okay?"

Her eyes stared at his face, he looked so happy and satisfied with his life. Hugging him tightly she cried. Perhaps, she felt that her Xavier for once might not be able to keep up his promise for her.

A/N

These lines- "Thudikkum Udhadu Kondu Thudaiththidu Vetkaththai, Anaippin Aadhikkathaal Veliyetru Achaththai..."

I don't know if I would be able to keep that poetic beauty of these beautiful lines if I translate, but I'll try- "Oh love, wipe off this silly reserve, my shyness, with your passionate lips and break away my fear with the dominance of your loving hug."

Hehe... I tried my best, but this whole song is so beautiful and I wanted people to know about it.

The original version is best, especially with the magic of ARR, but I found that Viji Viswanathan has done a great job by singing this rendition.
