"Are you feeling fine?", Xavier stood next to Satya, his left hand caressing her arm.

She looked frail, her arms covered in bandages and multiple wires hanging around her body, the sound of beeping machines filled the room. Her face looked pale.

Satya Devi never looked weak.

Stupid love had flipped things for her, heartbreak was a bitch.

She didn't reply, her mouth was covered with an oxygen mask and her eyelids kept drooping. Her eyes had dark circles and they looked tired.

"Really Satya? You thought that you could leave Dhanya alone?", he sneered, "I was a fool to think that you cared more for your sister."

He saw tears brimming in her eyes.

"You were going to die for what?", he continued, "For that guy who didn't stand for you, stand with you? For the child who was not even born, the baby whom you aborted?"

Her lips trembled but Xavier wanted to talk it out loud, he wanted her to face the reality.

"I don't think I can ever understand your pain, Satya.", he took her hand, "But I know one thing, that you are not a stupid who forgets her worth."

"Don't get me wrong, this was unbelievable.", he muttered, "I would have helped you, Satya, you are young and fucking hell..."

Sobbing she mumbled, "I am sorry, Xav."

"No, don't throw that card at me.", he shook his head, "You hid yourself from me, I really would have helped with... You don't have to face everything alone, understand that."

She blinked her tears out as they struggled to flow. He wiped her tears and kissed her forehead, "Don't ever do this to yourself. It hurts to see that the woman who stood with me every day and night, helped me overcome my pain, that strong woman is lying in a hospital bed because she never let me help her heal."

Her hand tightly clutched him as she cried silently.

It had been three days and doctors finally had told them that it was safe for Satya to move to her home. Xavier and Alisha had taken care of all the formalities.

He had avoided answering any media or press personnel. Satya had been the face of the Xhasis and people wanted to know everything about the young achiever's sudden admission to hospital.

It was outrageous; the way the media treated anyone, and he sure as hell wanted to stay away from it.

--

Xavier faintly smiled after reading the message on his phone.

'Is everything alright with her?'

Valmiki probably knew things from the tabloid but Xavier had to admit the dedication of that man.

'She's doing well, will take time to recover physically and mentally.'

'What happened, should I come?'

'Whenever she gets better, you can ask her. I am not in a position to tell... Also, I don't think she will take it lightly if you travel from the U.S. to here to just meet her.'

'She...

Okay.'

He sighed.

--

Krithika had visited the hospital for the last three days and sat quietly with him, never trying to talk to him or ask anything at all. She had held his hand occasionally whenever he felt tired. It had calmed him; she had calmed him.

He knew that she was scared of his cold behavior. He had never shown this particularly nasty face to her. Only a few knew about it. He was angry and deeply hurt by whatever Satya had done, he didn't know how to hide those emotions.

Whenever he had tried to look at her face, she had cowered. Her eyes had involuntarily looked away when he had yearned to stare at them. It felt uneasy, her fear of him. He hated himself to frighten her as he never had harmed a soul.

I have to talk to her.

He pulled out his phone to dial her number but noticed Alisha was intently looking at him, "What?", he scowled.

"When were you planning to tell me about her?"
