"You look so fucking gorgeous!", Priya squealed, spotting Krithika sitting on a high table in a corner of the bar, "Some talent you have sewing such sexy outfits for yourself."

Krithika held a nervous smile, fiddling with the edge of her dress. She looked down at her skin-fit attire. It was surely a bit tighter than the last time she wore it, which happened to be exactly a year ago. That evening in her room she had practically tried to shove herself in the damned dress, her breast had cried out for help from the brutality slammed on them. She had no other option, no other 'party' kind of dress.

She was overtly aware that each curve of her body was on display. At any other given time, it would have appeared to be obscene but in the dim light of the bar, it didn't matter much.

"Remove that stupid jacket.", Priya clicked her tongue as she sat next to her, pushing the denim from Krithika's shoulder, "There. That's some hot stuff."

She had worn a jacket, trying to cover herself a little and Priya disapproved of her trials on being a 'proper lady'.

"I don't like to wear...", she glanced at herself, "...tight clothes."

"Don't be an aunty now. You got delicious curves, flaunt it, baby.", Priya winked, "Being young is priceless, don't waste it on being appropriate."

"I am surely not wasting anything.", Krithika frowned.

"You are, my girl, you surely are...", Priya pushed her liquid amber-filled glass towards her, "I can bet that the 'Miss. Dashwood, the Eldest' inside you has never tasted any alcohol?", she smirked, comparing her to the prim and proper Ms. Elinor Dashwood.

"I have had few sips back in the college, never had enjoyed it though.", she admitted. The liquors that she had tried were too sharp and bitter for her liking. They had burned her throat and eyes, regretting every bit of them.

Priya's eyes held a determination, "I will make you love it.", she turned to face the bartender and muttered. After a while, he returned with a beautiful glass, "Blanco Margarita, for the miss.", he gave her a flashing grin as she seductively smiled back at him, "Here.", she handed her the margarita.

"I don't know about the drink but this glass surely does look fancy.", Krithika shrugged. She took a sip, bitter alcohol burning a trail down her throat. But after a minute it felt good, and she started enjoying the taste. Her eyes glanced over Priya who was smiling over her victory.

She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, thank you.", she replied, sipping liquor slowly and trying not to overdo it.

Time went on, drinking and chatting with more colleagues who joined both of them.

"There's hash as well it seems.", Akash whispered, nodding towards the private lounge, "I smelled it."

"They have the money, hashish or cocaine they can afford it.", Priya waved a flippant hand, "Akash, stop making that face, you chose your poison they chose theirs."

Well, that made some sense. No one held a knife at their throats and asked them to drink or smoke, it was a personal choice. Krithika believed that owning one's actions was the right way to live, mistakes were bound to happen at some point in life.

She saw Satya noticing them from the said private lounge and greeting them with a warm smile. She was smoking and perhaps enjoying her drink with her friends and colleagues... and Xavier.

He looked different. Her eyes had always been blessed with a professional look of him, perhaps a few times with a body-hugging formal shirt, but mostly in crisp Raymond- perhaps Armani- suits. But at that moment, for the first time, he looked different. In a black shirt with few top buttons left loose, paired with dark denim jeans- he looked way more different than she would have liked to admit to herself.

The term is steamy hot, Krithika.

Her teeth caught her lower lips, worrying them slightly as she thought about her earlier encounter that day and what her body had felt.

Stop, please.

She inhaled and tried to ignore him for a good time but once in a while her eyes toured around the place and got stuck on him.

She noticed Satya snatching a glass from Xavier's hand, holding a very disapproving figure, almost like an admonishing mother. He gave her a lopsided grin while taking another glass and drinking, almost daring Satya to scold him.

He made a few appearances on the dance floor with Satya and her friends, where he just tried to move his limbs while talking to them. It rather looked like an informal business conference.

She burst out laughing, imagining Xavier talking about an important deal while dancing.

"Care to tell us?", Rashi quipped in, looking beautiful in her shimmering rose pink cocktail dress.

"Nothing...", she shrugged, trying to suppress her grin.

"Bah! Anyway, we should do shots!", Priya declared while bringing in a few tiny vodka shots.

She didn't like where this was heading, "I don't think it's a good idea, we are guests here..."

"Don't be a party pooper, come on Krithika, just give it a try.", Akash tagged along, "No one gives you free booze like this."

Rashi grinned, "I am ready!" she clapped her hands in excitement.

"Okay, but you guys have to help me get home, I have a little to no tolerance for alcohol," Krithika replied, already feeling buzzed, "And I have had one fancy cocktail already."

All of them eagerly nodded.

Priya probably made sure that all of them should die of alcohol poisoning- yes, she knew it was a possibility. They drank almost till their third shot when Rashi raised her hand, "I am out!" she said with a slur, "Oh see there's my darling Rath-- I mean Priya. Yeah Priya.", she pressed her eyes tight, "I already had a Martini earlier and I might pass out if I drink more. I don't want to die."

Krithika's head started to spin, dizziness gripping her every nerve, and she threw her hands up, "I am also well out!", she blabbered, words jumbling up so bad that she wanted to cry. It was a mistake to give in to peer pressure and drink more than she could have tolerated. She gulped water to feel less dehydrated.

"Washroom.", she slurred, indicating to her colleagues that she wanted to use the washroom.

Making sure that her steps didn't falter, she started to walk. To reach the washroom she had to cross the dance floor, which looked like a strenuous task with so much alcohol in her system.

Drink water and clear your bladder.

She knew that drinking a good amount of water and a few trips to the washroom would help her. That was her plan to get sober before going back to her room.

Few more steps, Krithika, just a few more.

With a blurry vision, she was having a very difficult time navigating her way through the crowd. Just when she was about to cross the final hurdle, she stumbled, colliding with a stiff body.

"Sorry.", a deep voice lured her. She inhaled and her mind forgot everything.

That's so good...

A/N

A slightly lengthy chapter, almost equivalent to two chapters even after editing. ;)

Also, Harini's voice in this song is so...Idk how to even describe it.

Also the line- " Mazhaiyodu naan karainthathumillai, veyilodu naan urugiyathillai, Paarai pol ennullam irunthathada...", was dedicated to me by someone. Well, that someone did melt my heart at last ;)
