"It's good to see him like this."

Krishna commented, walking next to Alisha and pointing his eyes towards Xavier.

"Like?", she flipped her hand towards him, passing him a fresh cigarette.

His eyes caught his wife glaring at him from the other edge of the balcony and he scratched his left brow, sheepishly grinning at her. Shaking his head, he declined the offer from Alisha and winked at Samiksha, acknowledging her that he would keep his promise to quit smoking.

Noticing her lips blooming in a beautiful angelic smile as her cheeks turned pink, he wondered if he could fucking fall in love with her, his gorgeous wife, again.

Alisha cleared her throat, tired of watching a corny live relay of 'Aankhon ki Gustakhiyan' between her doll and her doll's hopeless romantic husband, "Like!?", she almost shouted.

Smiling like a fool, "Happy.", Krishna replied to her.

"Hmm..."

They stood in silence. Out of courtesy, Alisha didn't light her cigarette and started whistling the tunes of some random song.

Krishna turned and looked outside the Xavier's penthouse, his sharp vision scanning thoroughly. It was guarded well but he always double-checked, he preferred to be alert, "Choti always wished this kind of life for him.", he said absentmindedly.

Alisha hit the back of his head and pivoted around. She leaned back, her weight supported by the railing of the balcony, "SP Sahab, you don't need to act to be not bitter about it.", glaring at him, she continued, "Subhadra is your sister, Xav is not."

"No, I am not. Why would I even act in front of you?", he frowned, "I am genuinely happy for him, he's one of my closest friends."

"Hmm...", Alisha hummed, "What is she doing these days?"

Krishna leaned forward, his weight heavily relying on the railing, "Scientist or something like that.", he inhaled, wild roses around reminding him of his sister, "Company of a supergenius rubbed on her to choose research as her career."

"Is she dating someone?", Alisha couldn't stop herself from prying. Subhadra had caused more than the needed damage to her best friend. She had hated her for a long time until Xavier told her the detailed reason for their divorce.

It had sounded petty when Xavier had recited it to her, but later, she had understood Subhadra's decision.

It was incomprehensible for him.

But Alisha had thought, it was better for him to not look deep, to not find meaning in Subhadra's words; it would have broken him in the worst way possible and he wouldn't have moved on with his life... Ever.

"Samiksha said she's seeing this Greek guy, Giannis or... I don't know... Subhadra doesn't like to talk to me much.", Krishna sighed.

Alisha tittered, "That's unusual, I thought the Singh siblings were nothing but an example of 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain' epic."

Krishna didn't reply to that.

"Dharoga ji, what?", she prompted.

"I was never there for her when she needed me, it was always Bhaiyya.", he swallowed, realizing that this was the first time he was admitting about his strangled relationship with Subhadra to someone other than his wife, "Funny, how someone seven years senior to her was able to bond better than me who's not even two years older than her. Maybe I am not that good."

Alisha pulled him closer and held his arm, "Krish, that's the charm of Jagdish Veer Singh. It shouldn't be surprising to you to know that he frequently messages to check on me, that's just him being him.", she sighed and stroked his arm in an attempt to console him, "That's an outlandish judgment on your part. You aren't that bad of a man yourself."

Turning to his left side to face her, he arched his brows and smirked.

She noticed his eyes twinkling in mischief, "What?", her cheeks flared.

"I am not that bad, huh?", he teased her.

Alisha fought to not blush and present herself like a tomato in front of the stupid fellow whom she did hate, a tiny bit for sure, "Just because I call you a dog, it doesn't proportionate to what I feel."

Krishna clicked his tongue, "Tsk, I see.", he mocked, still holding that irritable smirk that Alisha wanted to slap off.

"You are a great guy, else I wouldn't have permitted my doll to marry you.", she furiously claimed.

"My darling needs your permission, from when?"

She was beyond annoyed at this point and threw his arm away from her hold, "You have no idea about how much Iksha respects me.", glaring at him, she snarled, "She would have spat your sappy love if I had said no."

Krishna squinted, his eyes burning the stupid friend of his wife whom he did despise, a wee bit for sure, "Oh, thanks Begum, for being so considerate."

"Yeah, keep saying that, you'll learn some manners soon.", Alisha hissed.

"Asshole Ali."

"Chutiya kahin ka."

"Tu..."

Xavier and Farhan paced toward them, noticing the start of a dispute between them.

"If only you hadn't been my doll's love...", Alisha stomped her right foot and furiously strode away, slipping past her husband, "Fuck off!", she barked at him, shoving hard and he stumbled to the side of Xavier.

Flinching, Farhan exclaimed, "Bollocks!"
