Chapter fourteen.
"dragon rush!" Yelled a twenty-year-old man in a cape to a majestic serpentine creature known as a dragonair. The opponents he was facing laughed. "Team rocket will take you out easily!" they shouted. "Tell us! Where is the blue stone!"
It was at this point that they noticed Chris and John, or more importantly, the stone in John's hand.
"Bonus! A courier service along with the stone!" they laughed.
"You'll never get it!" yelled John, releasing his pokemon. "You'll have to go through both of us!" Chris agreed. Luke and Wing stood in front of them. "Oh yah! Team rocket forces go!" All of the team rocket men threw their only pokeballs. A variety of pokemon appeared, mostly the rat-like ratatatas and sludgy grimers, with a few gaseous koffings mixed in.
...Shortly after starting, Chris and John beat them. "we'll be back!" they fled in haste, knowing that, as grunts, they could not even hope to beat someone who beat their semi-boss. As soon as they were gone, the old man from before appeared.
"grandfather!" said the dragon person, who was, of course, Drake. "Is there something wrong?" said Drake, with an odd expression on his face. "no no nothing. Will you hand me that stone?" he asked. Just as John was reaching out to give the elder the stone, drake seemed to make a split second decision. "use imprison!" His dragonair seemed to form bars out of nothing, enclosing the elder.
(I know this isn't how imprison is usually used, I'll be doing lots of thing like that in this story so get used to it)
"wha" said John.
"Grrrrr... Use sludge bomb!" yelled the elder, releasing a toxicroak. Now both John and Chris were very confused. "oh yah? Use dragon rush." This defeated the toxicroak, but when drake, John, and Chris turned to look at the elder, there was only a ditto. The elder seemed to have just... disappeared.
"I'm kinda confused... could you fill me in?" asked Chris. "that was a fake," said Drake, "using a ditto to disguise himself as my grandfather."
"oh... were is your grandfather then?"
"probably asleep. That's how he is. Wonder why, though, since he usually wakes up because of nightmares early in the morning and doesn't go back to sleep." said drake. "so, what happened to you?"
"well, tye imposter asked us to retrieve this stone," said John, holding out the stone for the gym leader to see.
"okay, do you want to battle me now that the team rocket is gone?" asked drake bluntly.
"uh, sure." said John.
-Gym battle seven, dragon master drake-
After a fierce two-on-two battle, Chris and John were declared winners, got their badge, yada yada yada, and left.
"we forgot to leave the blue stone with him," said John, walking away from the dungeon.
"doesn't matter. We found it anyway, and it may prove to be useful." said Chris. Little did he know, he was so wrong that I could write a book on how wrong he was. But I'll get to that later.
As usual, they checked into an inn. And went to sleep.
For those of you who like Chris, you can skip this little paragraph as it is completely pointless. If you don't like Chris, this may amuse you in an odd way.
Chris woke up and left the inn for a walk. He did not notice the caution signs and kept on walking. He then walked into a monstrous hole. He fell, and fell, and fell. He then woke up from his nightmare.
See? Didn't I tell you that it was pointless? (I don't know why I did that)
After waking up from sleep, the two friends checked out and left the inn. They made it to the next city in record time, though both John and Chris were panting. They had battled a few picnickers on the way, a couple of youngsters, and one or two ace trainers. The hardest battle had been one of the ace trainers, who used graveller and onix.
"let's call the man from the bike shop," suggested John, bringing out his new blue flip cell phone. (I'm tired of typing "the man from the bike shop" over and over again, so he is officially TMFTBS)
John called TMFTBS, but he didn't pick up. He then proceeded to call him at least ten times. He did not pick up. Here is how frustrated he was:

John sighed. "of all the times not to pick up, it's when we're about to face the final gym leader, probably the hardest battle we've ever been in.
"he's probably busy. Why don't we check this city out and then call him?" said Chris, motioning around at the nice, ordinary city.
"good idea, let's check out that old building over there" he pointed at a rundown old apartment building. "then we can check out the mountain over there," said Chris, gesturing at the large mountain on the outskirts of the city. "It looks cool."
They walked in, looking out for dangers. There were none.
"Has this place been renovated lately?" Asked Chris, noticing that the place was just one monstrous room, and it had new paint and flooring, despite it's outward appearance.
"Look at that! There's even a magnet on that steel part of the wall," said John, rushing over to read it. Of course, the second he does so- "whoa! The floor is falling! The floor is falling!"
The floor lowered. John and chris stepped out to see- defeated team rocket goons everywhere in the large room, possibly a foyer type place. "Do you think it's the people from before?" asked John.
At his words, the two teens from before appeared from a doorway. "so Red, want to stay here in Photon for a while?" asked the younger teen, walking toward them slowly, while in conversation with the other.
"I don't know, why?" replied the teen.
"I don't know either, prof. Jacob said he'd like for you to stay. Probably wants to hear about Oak."
It was around this time that they noticed Chris and John.
"they can take over, I'm tired," said the younger teen. "fine with me," the other replied, "I must admit, it was quite fun beating up all those goons." "as much as I hate to agree with you..."
As was last time, the younger one sent out a powerful-looking alakazam and disappeared, leaving nothing but defeated goons to show they were ever there."
"Sometime," said Chris, "we're going to have to find out who they are."
"I agree." said John. "let's find your dad and the others if they're even here. And-" He was cut short by the appearance of a man from the doorway. He was wearing a ragged sweatshirt and jeans.
"DAD!" Chris exclaimed, rushing forward to meet his father.
"hello son, I've missed you." said his father, moving forward.
"how'd you-" said Chris, stopping at the appearance of a girl in the doorway. "Jane!?"
She was followed by a boy, then another girl.
"Clark! Anne! How'd you get-" Chris was interrupted by his dad.
"it was a teen with an absol. They freed us then left."
"Wonder where the other boy was," Chris thought out loud.
"anyway," Chris's dad said, "Chris, you can take over. I'll take Clark, Jane and Anne out. I'll join you then, if I think you need it."
"Thanks dad," said Chris, turning away toward the door where the team rocket boss must be, while his dad led Clark, Jane and Anne out of the hideout. Chris entered the room, surprised that it wasn't locked, with John close behind him. Suddenly, "Yes! Get it!" yelled the man who, back in chapter twelve, had used his drapion in a battle against them. At his command, many goons jumped out and tackled John. One grabbed the blue stone, and threw it to him. "I have the stone! Retreat!"
In seconds, the place was empty, without a trace of the goons who had stolen the blue stone. "Where did they go?" asked Chris. "don't know," came the reply, "We have to follow them, though. Who knows what that stone does."
They raced out of the building, noticing the last of the grunts heading towards the tall, pointed Mount Mystic. "Let's follow them!" They, too, raced toward the mountain. When they reached the mountain, they realized that climbing it wouldn't be to hard, as long ago, someone had made a path up it, spiraling around the mountain until it reached the top, where the Rocket boss would be. They ascended the mountain, fighting goons all the way. When they finally reached the final set of stairs, three sprite-like creatures flew quickly over them, away from the mountain. They reached the summit. A man with a powerful aura was flanked by the two men who back in chapter twelve had fought them, with a drapion and a haunter.
The man spoke. "I have heard of your exploits. I am glad that you would be here to witness me taking over the world. I am the current team rocket boss, with thousands of goons at my disposal. My name is ...........
The next chapter will, inevitably, include the team rocket boss's name. As I have had no suggestions, this story may be discontinued for a month or two, due to the fact that I am bad with names. So, I ask once more, it would he nice to have some suggestions for a name. Yes, that means YOU.
