John and Chris walked down to the arena.
"ONE-ON-ONE... BATTLE!!!"
Both trainers threw a simple red-and-white pokeball. And the battle began.
"Lucario!"
"Starraptor!"
"Use quick attack!"
"Detect!" John replied, the intense battle that would follow already causing both trainers to sweat.
"Brave Bird!"
"Me First!"
Lucario flew towards starraptor, and they both attacked.
"Close combat!" both trainers shouted, an the pokemon attacked each other.
"Endeavor!" shouted Chris, but nothing happened.
"Dark Pulse!" a pulsating wave of darkness appeared, and hit Wing.
Wing seemed to be close to fainting.
"We're a team!" shouted Chris, "and this will show! Final Gambit!"
Both pokemon fainted.
--> Okay. Who, honestly, guessed that? Be honest! Anyway. Sure, I'll start the Reining Champion. :D <--
"This... This... Is INCREDIBLE, folks!" exclaimed the announcer over the speakers.
"This, the first time in this tournament, is a TIE!!"
"It seems no one will challenge the Champion this year!"
He seemed to be corrected by a judge.
"Um... This was UNEXPECTED, folks! It seems, if they will comply, they will be taking on the champion in a double battle!"
"Yeah! They shouted together, somehow over the roaring over the crowd, and made their way to stand beside each other. The champion, a person dressed entirely in black, with a black hood over his/her face, walked up.
"Two on two... Battle!"
"Spark!" "Flame!"
The person said nothing, simply tossing two pokeballs into the air.
'Riiiii!!!'
'Star'
Two pokemon that both friends recognized appeared, a starly and riolu.
"..." the person said nothing.
"Use close combat!"
"Brave Bird!"
The two attacks flew towards the opponents.
"Block them," said the person, and suddenly both Chris and John knew who was behind the hood.
