Chapter fourteen.
"dragon rush!" Yelled a twenty-year-old man in a cape to a majestic serpentine creature known as a dragonair. The opponents he was facing laughed. "Team rocket will take you out easily!" they shouted. "Tell us! Where is the blue stone!"
It was at this point that they noticed Chris and John, or more importantly, the stone in John's hand.
"Bonus! A courier service along with the stone!" they laughed.
"You'll never get it!" yelled John, releasing his pokemon. "You'll have to go through both of us!" Chris agreed. Luke and Wing stood in front of them. "Oh yah! Team rocket forces go!" All of the team rocket men threw their only pokeballs. A variety of pokemon appeared, mostly the rat-like ratatatas and sludgy grimers, with a few gaseous koffings mixed in.
...Shortly after starting, Chris and John beat them. "we'll be back!" they fled in haste, knowing that, as grunts, they could not even hope to beat someone who beat their semi-boss. As soon as they were gone, the old man from before appeared.
"grandfather!" said the dragon person, who was, of course, Drake. "Is there something wrong?" said Drake, with an odd expression on his face. "no no nothing. Will you hand me that stone?" he asked. Just as John was reaching out to give the elder the stone, drake seemed to make a split second decision. "use imprison!" His dragonair seemed to form bars out of nothing, enclosing the elder.
(I know this isn't how imprison is usually used, I'll be doing lots of thing like that in this story so get used to it)
"wha" said John.
"Grrrrr... Use sludge bomb!" yelled the elder, releasing a toxicroak. Now both John and Chris were very confused. "oh yah? Use dragon rush." This defeated the toxicroak, but when drake, John, and Chris turned to look at the elder, there was only a ditto. The elder seemed to have just... disappeared.
"I'm kinda confused... could you fill me in?" asked Chris. "that was a fake," said Drake, "using a ditto to disguise himself as my grandfather."
"oh... were is your grandfather then?"
"probably asleep. That's how he is. Wonder why, though, since he usually wakes up because of nightmares early in the morning and doesn't go back to sleep." said drake. "so, what happened to you?"
"well, tye imposter asked us to retrieve this stone," said John, holding out the stone for the gym leader to see.
"okay, do you want to battle me now that the team rocket is gone?" asked drake bluntly.
"uh, sure." said John.
-Gym battle seven, dragon master drake-
After a fierce two-on-two battle, Chris and John were declared winners, got their badge, yada yada yada, and left.
"we forgot to leave the blue stone with him," said John, walking away from the dungeon.
"doesn't matter. We found it anyway, and it may prove to be useful." said Chris. Little did he know, he was so wrong that I could write a book on how wrong he was. But I'll get to that later.
As usual, they checked into an inn. And went to sleep.
For those of you who like Chris, you can skip this little paragraph as it is completely pointless. If you don't like Chris, this may amuse you in an odd way.
Chris woke up and left the inn for a walk. He did not notice the caution signs and kept on walking. He then walked into a monstrous hole. He fell, and fell, and fell. He then woke up from his nightmare.
