QUICK NOTE TO THOSE OF YOU READING THIS NOW

It seems that when transferring chapters somehow they all got backwards. Basically, it goes, 37, 36, 35 so on. Because I'm lazy I don't feel like fixing it... Sorry. This happens to everything in this book ^^

I've slightly edited this chapter so that is is the end to the series. Chapter 38 will be deleted.

"Hello. Wait... You two?"

"Celia?"

Celia stared at her opponents, as they stared back.

"Let's battle! four on four, a battle to rend the legends!"

"Go, Flame!" Chris called, the amazing pokemon appearing.

"Spark!"

"Vigon, Pikks, come'on out!"

John pulled out his pokedex.

“Flygon, the dragon-ground pokemon. Pikachu, the electric mouse.”

“Got it! Chris, let's do this thing!”

“Yeah! Flame, use flame wheel!”

“Spark, you can thunderbolt!”

“Vigon, hide yourself and Pikks with a sandstorm!” At this, the attacks disappeared into a whirling mass of sand. “Pikks, agility!”

“Spark, again, thunderbolt!”

Once more, the attack missed completely. Flame's second flame wheel had a likewise effect.

“Now! Vigon, use dragonbreath! Pikks, agility once more!”

Out of the sandstorm came a blast of blue flame, scorching Spark.

“Spark, use-” He was cut off by Celia.

“And now! Use earthquake.”

The ground shook, as the sandstorm dissapated. Only one pokemon was left standing- the earthquake had taken out both Spark and Flame, but Pikks as well.

“Go, Luke! You can do this!”

“Wing!”

Celia: 2 pts.

John & Chris: 1 pt.

First person to four points will win! If Luke and Wing fall, this could be the end!

“Throh, come on out!”

“Good,” Chris mumbled. “Wing, use Aerial Ace!”

“Luke! CloseCombat on the Flygon.”

“Throh, try a low kick on the Lucario. Vigon – I want another sandstorm!”

The Aerial Ace hit first, dealing substantial damage to the Throh. The CloseCombat did some damage, while the low kick missed. Vigon whipped up a sandstorm.

“Not another sandstorm,” John began to sweat.

“Don't worry! Use defog!”

Wing flapped its wings intensely to blow away the sand.

“Luke! Aura Sphere on the Throh!”

“Double hit, Wing! Use Aerial Ace once more!”

The two moves defeated the Throh.

Celia: 2 pts.

John & Chris: 2 pts. It's a tie, but Celia's next pokemon could turn this around!

Celia weighed her two remaining pokeballs. Who should she choose?

She had made her decision. “Let's end this! Metts!”

The metagross appeared.

“Psychic! Dragonbreath!”

“Close Combat!”

“Aerial Ace!”

The explosion created by the colliding moves caused dust to fly up around the pokemon, and all three trainers waited.

As the dust settled, two pokemon could be seen.

“Wing!”

“Luke!”

“?”

“?”

As if in slow motion, both pokemon fell to the ground. Behind them, Vibes lay on the ground.

One pokemon was left.

With only a bit of health left, Metagross stood up.

The battle was over.

Celia had won.

It was... Over.

---/---

John blinked, the silence overwhelming.

He and Chris had lost, the battle that they had worked so hard to fight.

They had lost the battle that they had tried so long to win, that they had trained so hard for.

This was the end.

Forever.

"You do know that you can leave, train, and try us again, don't you?" Celia chuckled lightly.

"Yeah, but... I thought..."

"Hey, at least you tried! I'd love to battle you two again!" Celia said with a grin, the statement causing the two tired friend to feel better.

"You're right," said John, both him and Chris grinning.

They'd train.

They'd try again.

Because of course, it was never the end.

Because the legacy would live on...

...Forever.

End---/37/---End

Yeah, it's not that much different, but hopefully a bit less of a depressing end. :D Bye!
