“Ah, so close! Are you two prepared?” John asked.

“Prepared? For what, exactly?” I asked, getting worried.

“The prophecy says that Alex will either help the world or destroy it on her 18th birthday. She will either turn evil or good. Are you ready for either option?” Jacob explained.

“I have no worry. I know for a fact that Alex will help the world, and turn to light side.” I said, confidently.

“And if she were to turn to evil what would you do? You being her other half can either choose to go against her, and try to turn her good or go with her, to help her destroy the world.” Jack informed.

Apparently we still didn’t know all the details, despite the deadline being so close. Alex and I had gotten use to not knowing all sides of the story, so this was no surprise to us. That’s how nonchalant we had gotten over the past few weeks. I could tell though, that this information worried Alex slightly, so it was my job to reassure her, indirectly of course, so she wouldn’t know what I was trying to do.

“That won’t be a problem, I know she is good. If that happens however, I will not turn against her or go with her, I will stop her myself and change her back to the Alex I know.” I said, a bit arrogantly.

“You have such faith in yourself. Are you sure?” John asked.

“If Alec can’t stop me, I guarantee no other force in this world can.” Alex said, gravely.

“Why?” Jacob asked, confused, yet curious.

“He’s closest to me. Not my brother, nor my sister, though I am quite close with them, and I love them. Definitely not my parents, they don’t know anything about me. Not family nor friends, though I have few, and they know little about me as well. Alec is the only one, for he is closest and knows most about me.” Alex said, sort of poetically.

“So no one would be able to stop you?” Jack asked, for reassurance.

“Yeah, pretty much.” She answered.

The boys shuttered, while Alex smiled, apologetically. I knew I had to save this. If Alex or the boys thought that Alex would turn evil, they had another thing coming. I wouldn’t let her or anyone else think she was going to turn evil, because she wouldn’t.

“She’s NOT going to turn evil, got it? I trust her, and you should too. You’ve been watching Alex, she never done anything bad right? How can someone that’s never done any evil turn evil?” I tried reasoning.

“Oh we trust Alex. We also know she’s never done anything bad, but everyone holds evil inside them. Some just contain it better than others. What we’re worried about is that Alex has been hiding and holding her emotions for so long that she’s on the verge of exploding. On her 18th birthday she’ll be so unstable that she might just let her emotions run wild, turning her evil. It’s quite possible, we’ve calculated.” Jack informed.

That shut us up. I had no reply to that. I mean if that was possible and they had calculated it would happen then who were we to argue with facts and truths.

“Then we’ll just have to let Alex vent out as much as she can before her birthday to stop her from turning evil, now won’t I?” I said, sort of jokingly.

We stayed quiet after that, all of us contemplating on what the heck we would do when the time came.

“Ok! Breakfast is served!” Maria announced, killing the silence and our contemplating thoughts.

We ate in relative silence this time, all of us thinking. The adults, however, were staring at us quite curiously. I just tried to eat while thinking. What would I do if Alex turned evil? I knew she wouldn’t, but there was a chance of her turning, so I had to be ready, just in case. So back to the question, what would I do? I knew I wasn’t stronger than her, she was the original Lifest, and she had more power than I did. I was just a lot better, emotional wise, so I kept her in check. I wouldn’t be able to fight her off if she decided she was going to be evil.

“Ok, if you’re ready now, how about we go train?” Asked Jack, after we were done eating.

“Lead the way.” Alex said, somewhat willingly.

I could tell she was thinking about this as well. She doesn’t want to turn evil, but she knows she holds evil inside of her, like everyone, and she knows she might not be able to control it, so she’s worrying needlessly.

“It’s ok. Everything’s going to be ok.” I reassured her.

She only nodded, not really saying anything. I took her hand in mine, and squeezed it, reassuringly, which caused Alex to look up at me, and smile slightly. I kissed the top of her head as we arrived.

The door was made completely out of a strong substance, completely different than the rest of the house. As we walked into the room, I noticed that it was completely empty, and that the whole room had been made out of this substance.

“This room is where we come for training. It’s built out of the strongest substance in the supernatural and human world. Nothing can penetrate it, so you can relax and not worry about destroying it.” Jack explained.

“Well that makes me feel a bit better.” Alex admitted.

“Yes, I doubt anyone can get through this.” John reassured.

“Alright, now I’m going to start where we left off with Jack and Zane.” Alex informed everyone.

“I would stay away from her, if I were you.” I suggested.

“Oh, she can’t cause that much havoc, can she?” Jacob asked, worried.

“You’ll have to see for yourself.” Alex said, sheepishly.

Alex’s POV

I sat down in the middle of the room, as Alec, Jack, John and Jacob followed suit. I sighed and let my body relax, closing my eyes in the process. I just watched the colors go by, like I had last time, just letting go of myself.

It was kind of like watching fireworks, with all the different colors swirling around. They were pretty and I could tell which emotions popped up more than others. I just watched the display, letting it all go. I don’t know how long it took, but I when I opened my eyes, it was much worse. I think it was worse because it had been a while since the last time I did this.

“I thought you said that nothing could break through it?” I said, a bit cockily.

“No one’s been able to break it through it…until now that is.” Jack replied.

There was a huge hole in the room, leading to another room. We were chest high in water, and there were cracks in the wall. There was fire all over the places too, but at least no one was hurt.

“I have never seen anything like. Ever! How did you do that?!” Asked Jacob, ever the curious.

“You guys should know that I’ve pent up all my bad emotions. Well this is the result.” I told them.

The three boys said something in a dead language, Latin probably, and the room was prepared, just like that. I stood up, where I was, and stared at the newly repaired room.

“Whoa! How did you guys do that, I thought you were healers?” I asked.

“Our dads are warlocks and our moms are healers, we’ve got magical powers and healing powers. But that’s nowhere near as cool as you are!” Jacob explained and commented.

“It’s more of a curse than a blessing.” I looked down sadly.

“That’s only because you don’t know how to use it. Once you learn, you’ll love your power.” Jack said.

“Yeah, it’s just a problem of learning. We’ll help you as much as we can. We’ll learn together, you and Alec learning Lifest powers and us learning healing and spells.” John volunteered.

“Aw, thanks guys!” I gushed.

“Let’s train.” Jacob said, enthusiastically.
