So basically, this chapter is with Ned and Peter, definitely something different than what I usually write. So buckle up, y'all it's about to get angsty. And if you haven't, go to my message board and answer the question I put up.

Anyway, on with the story.

Peter couldn't believe it! He was going to MIT! He was so excited to tell Ned, Tony and May both cried when he told them it was amazing, and they were beyond proud of Peter and he hoped Ned got accepted too. Peter opened the door and saw his best friend standing there smiling at him.

Peter let Ned in and they went to his room. "Pete, what did you want to tell me?" Ned asked. By the way Peter was beaming, Ned could tell he was overly excited about something. "Hold on, sit down and cover your eyes."

Ned laughed a little, "Alright." He replied. He sat down on Peter's bed and Peter grabbed his acceptance letter, then sat down next to him and held it out in front of him. "Open your eyes." Peter told him. Ned opened them and looked at the piece of paper.

"Ned, what's wrong?" Peter questioned.

Ned glanced back at his friend, "I thought we were going to read our acceptance letters together. I was coming here to read mine with you."

"Oh I'm sorry, I was just excited. Mr. Stark and May were wanting me to open it. Why don't we read yours together then." Peter explained.

Ned nodded his head, "It's okay to be honest, I'm shaking. I'm so nervous but excited."

"Open it Ned." Peter insisted, Peter was definitely jumping with anticipation, Ned chuckled.

"I'll open it slowly just because you said that, and I'll take my sweet ol' time. We'll be here for years." Ned teased.

Peter rolled his eyes, "Okay Mr. Tease, open the letter please. I want to know if we get to be roommates."

"And that's why you're my best friend." He smiled and Peter returned the expression.

Ned pursed his lips and grimaced softly, "Open the letter before I do it for you." Peter said.

Ned held his hands up in defense, "Alright, impatient are we?"

He began opening it and unfolded the paper and started reading but stopped. Peter looked at him worriedly. Ned turned to Peter and set the letter on his bed and got up. Peter picked it up and started reading, then he read the infamous line that crushed every young adult. "Ned Leeds, we regret to inform you that we aren't accepting you for the writing scholarship."

Peter looked back at Ned and got up walking towards him. He could tell he didn't want a hug so Peter wasn't going to give him one so he slipped his hand onto Ned's but he jerked away. "Ned..." Before Peter could finish, Ned started getting angry, "This is why we said we'd open them together, you didn't even tell me you were thinking about accepting the scholarship Peter!" He shouted.

"Ned, I get it, you're upset. But please stop yelling." Peter replied.

Ned scoffed, "Upset? I'm more than upset that you were considering moving far away!"

Now Peter was getting mad, Ned is supposed to be his best friend, and be happy for him. Peter would've been happy for him. Why couldn't Ned be happy for him? "Okay, that's it, you know what? I actually thought you would be supportive instead you're getting angry at me."

"Guess what Ned, I don't live in a two story house in a cul-de-sac, my parents don't make six figures, heck they're not even around!" Peter yelled.

Peter knew Ned was upset, and rightfully so but that didn't give him the right to yell at him like this, "I've had to help my aunt pay the bills and buy food just so we wouldn't go homeless! I've been on my own for years working my butt off to actually be able to apply to MIT!"

"You don't get to dictate where I go to college. MIT has been my dream school ever since I was ten years old. And you've known that! So don't yell at me over something I can't control!"

"You're going to be far away from me Peter! And we won't see each other until the holidays if at all! We planned to go to MIT, be roommates, and study together but now we can't do that because you accepted!" Ned yelled, why was Peter so bent on leaving for MIT?

"I can't just not decline the acceptance, Ned, even if I wanted to." Peter admitted.

Peter was shocked, Ned had never been this upset before, "I have supported you through everything. Why can't you just be happy for me? For getting to go to the school I've been dreaming of all my life, you're being selfish Ned."

Ned scoffed again, "Oh, Really? You're the one choosing college over me!"

Peter crossed his arms and turned away from Ned, "Fine, I deserve that after all I am going to accept it. But at least I didn't immediately start blaming and yelling at you."

It's not like Peter wants to leave him but this is the school of his dreams and with everything that's happened in his life, he wasn't even sure if he'd be able to actually apply for college but Peter's eighteen and he's not about to pass up on a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to his dream university.

They both stood in awkward silence. Peter didn't think either of them was wanting to talk without yelling again so Peter decided to break the silence by saying, "Ned, I think you should go."

Ned didn't even say anything, not even a small head nod but instead he left and Peter sat down on his bed sighing, running his hands through his hair.

Should I apologize? Peter ponders if he should even apologize, Ned's the one not being supportive and yelling at him for wanting to go to MIT. It probably wasn't fair that Peter read his letter before he came over, god I'm so stupid I mean I didn't think about how he would feel? He thought.

Ugh! Why do friendships have to be so hard? He wondered how Tony and Rhodey did it. Well they've been best friends longer than he's been alive. This was a tough decision to go over, maybe he'd ask May to help him, but for now he really just wanted to forget that argument ever happened.
