(Alright everyone, this chapter doesn't have any lyrics, simply because I didn't want to write any and it's a different type of one shot if that makes sense. Hopefully you like it, the song is called Itsy Bitsy by Lyn Lapid, go check her out! She's awesome. It's  up above for you to listen, p.s Peter and Harley are adults in this story, you'll see what I mean.)

Anyway, on with the story.

Peter walked through the doors tagging along behind his parents, in the elegant mansion, seeing hundreds of thousands of guests mingling and sipping rosé. Internally, he scoffed, he hated being surrounded by rich people. The only reason they were there was to boast off their wealth, gloating about how much money they had by the amount they put into whatever charity the host was having a fundraiser for.

(I'm not saying this is how all rich people act, only some. So don't come for me lol.)

When he walked further into the house, he saw Tony Stark, his wife Pepper, and their son Harley. Who he was close friends with, they hated events like these where their parents would talk about their success and pretty much see which kid was better than the other. It was quite hilarious when they went off to hang out, when really they'd study or profile other guests. They both sat at the bar, talking about life such as the college dream or which girl/guy either one of them was crushing on.

The bartender went over to them, "Your usual Mr. Parker and Mr. Stark?" He asked, the two young men looked at him, nodding and thanking him. Peter looked back at Harley then into the crowd of women and men, studying a woman in a sparkling red ruby length dress. Her dark hair was kept in a neat updo.

Peter could easily pick her apart, she was glued to her husband's side, a glass of champagne in her hand, she was talking to another couple, of course their conversation was about wealth or what company they were running. "What do you think of her?" He asked Harley.

Harley caught Peter's gaze to the woman and started analyzing her, judging by her fake smile, she didn't want to be there, the way she would shift awkwardly, seems like her and her husband are having troubles in paradise. When they were studying the woman, Harley looked back at Peter, studying his features. His coily brunette hair, amber doe eyes, the way his smile lit up any room he walked into. The man gave him butterflies every time he laughed.

You could say Harley was falling in love with Peter, and though he wouldn't admit it, he was. He was falling harder than Alice was down the rabbit hole, no one knew of his fatuation, not his parents, not the media, just his overly love sick mind. But what brought so much joy, could also lead to so much heartbreak.

Harley really hated that if anyone found out about him liking Peter or them possibly going out on a date, it would be a disaster. He hated how his life was so exposed, he couldn't have privacy. Tonight would be the night where he said: "Screw it, I'm going to be myself, I'm going to tell Peter I love him.".

Harley leaned and whispered to Peter, convincing him to come upstairs to his room, they began acting stealthy like spies, acting like they were little kids sneaking into the kitchen and getting into the candy. Once they got up there Harley closed his curtains making sure not a single paparazzi guy was waiting outside with their camera at the ready.

"So... why are we up here Harls?" Peter asked, sitting on his bed, the funny thing each of them couldn't do, was read the other person. No matter how hard they tried, at least not in the way they did at these stupid parties. Peter couldn't help but wonder how he'd fallen for his best friend, it was all so cliché, which he found odd, as he wasn't one for cliches.

He refused to be one of those people who run after their lover at the airport before they leave the country, or tell them how he felt as they were in a near death experience, or kissing in the pouring rain. He absolutely refused to have his life turned into a cheesy hallmark movie, he learned early on life wasn't all happily ever after's.

But whenever he looked into the blonde's eyes, his heart melted into a puddle, his mind became a whirlwind of tender thoughts, and his words were nothing but stutters. Harley sat next to him, glancing into his eyes, "There's something I need to tell you. And I don't want you to freak alright." Peter nodded his head in response.

"I... I... god, I'm in love with you Peter, and I've always been so terrified to tell you. And I get it if you want to remain fr-" Before he could finish, Peter pulled Harley's tie forward and pulled him into a kiss. It was slow, falling into a rhythm, Harley cupped Peter's face, rubbing the pads of his thumbs on his cheekbones.

Once they pulled away, they were breathless, Harley smiled, he felt like the luckiest guy in the world. He couldn't believe this was happening, the guy he loves loved him back. "I love you Peter."

"I love you too Harley, but we have to keep this a secret. I know you probably don't want to, but we have to."

Harley sighed, "I wish I could just show everyone that I love you. I hate hiding."

Peter leaned his head onto Harley's chest, "I know, I wish I could show the world how much I love you too. Who knows what'll happen if people find out, for now we just need to be quiet."

Harley kissed Peter's forehead, "Do you want to stay over tonight? Once the party is over?"

"Sure. That way I'll get to spend a lot of time with you."

Harley chuckled, "Indeed you will darlin'."

"We should head back down there unless you want our parents to find us." The both of them headed to the door, but before they left Harley pulled Peter into a swift kiss and then they headed back to the party.
