Queen

I glanced at the door when I heard a knocking at the hotel door and I looked straight at Syn. He was sitting on the furthest part of the couch from me, but he tilted his head in my direction and raised a brow. "Are you going to pay for that?"

"See I would," I started. "But the way my life is set up right now."

"Get the fuck out of here," Syn whispered as we both laughed softly. He grabbed his wallet from the table and quickly walked to the door. I urged through the channels absentmindedly as I looked at the TV, but I stopped once I landed on a specific channel. There was some random show going on about supernatural creatures getting their bodies done professionally, and it was interesting...to say the least.

Syn closed the door and came back with the food in hand, but slowed when he glanced at the television. "What the hell is this?"

"Some show Cleo watched all the time," I reminisced. I missed her a lot, but I was still pissed about everything. Not only didn't she give me the benefit of the doubt, but she let Cas and Xavier gang up on me like they were her goons or something.

I still hadn't forgiven Syn, so talking to any of them didn't seem likely to happen any time soon. I didn't even plan on talking to Syn much tonight, but we needed to at least be comfortable around one another if we were going to win this thing.

He still hadn't brought up what happened and I just had to assume that he didn't want to talk about it. I wanted to bring it up, but I didn't want to ruin the mood in the room.

He set the pizza boxes down and cringed as he looked up at the screen. "You want to watch people get cut open while we eat?"

I winced and passed him the remote and he graciously accepted it before turning to anything else. When a random move appeared on the screen he set the remote down and looked towards me. Of course, I was as awkward as always and I was looking everywhere but at him.

"Do you want to change?" He asked. I looked at him in confusion until I noticed his eyes on my dress. "I know you need to be comfortable when you eat wings."

"Syn, stop being a weirdo. I don't have clothes with me anyway."

"My suitcase is in the room to the left," he said as he pointed to it. "You can get anything you want."

I nodded before making my way in the direction he showed me and my eyes widened when I flipped on the light switch. I'd even plenty of nice rooms, but this was ELITE. The walls were sleek and looked like they were made of gold.

There was a fresco on the ceiling and in the middle of it, there was a mirror looking straight down at the bed. I looked up at it and began to get dizzy as I slowly spun around. I finally took my eyes off of the mirror to only gasp at the window view. The wall-to-floor ceiling took up the entire wall and there was a carpeted seat that ran along the entire length of the window.

It would be a nice place to read if I wanted to feel like a bad bitch, but I didn't read. Unless it was an...interesting...book. Not that it had to be sexual, but I was always more drawn to this than the other genres. Michelle was definitely right about people loving love. I was one of those people.

"Woah," I said in awe as I sat on the window seat. My face was practically pushed against the glass as I looked down at the city. The underworld had a view, but this was mind-blowing. The air I was breathing in this room alone felt like I should be paying one thousand dollars per second.

"Do you like the view?" I heard from behind me. I turned around to see Syn leaning on the doorframe and cringed at myself. He was always catching me doing dumb shit.
