I winced as I felt a shooting pain in my head. It shot down my spine and made my entire body jolt. It was only then that I noticed that my ability to move was restricted by a cool metal binding my wrists.

My eyes shot open and I stared into nothingness. The space was dark and I couldn't make anything out at all. Where am I? Minutes ago, I remembered myself at the palace and now I was...here.

I tried to pull off the cuff around my wrists but I groaned as it got tighter around me.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," a deep male voice said. "The more you struggle, the more it'll hurt you."

"Unchain me," I snapped.

"Mmm no, I don't think I will just yet," he said with a small laugh.

"Are you hiding purposely?" I asked dryly. "If you're going to kidnap me, at least have the balls to show me who you are."

He laughed again and I furrowed my eyes as I felt the scraping of a chair nearing me. I tried to search in the darkness as I heard it being placed in front of me, but I still saw nothing. He let out a sigh as he, I could only assume, sat down in the chair I was facing.

"Are you scared?" I questioned with a bitter laugh. "I'm sure you know once I get out of these I'll kill you."

"I don't think my mother would appreciate that," he said.

"I don't give a fuck about your mother," I snapped.

"You just want me to kill you, don't you?" He asked with a sigh. I ignored his question and I heard him laugh once again. "Did you seriously ask me if I was scared?"

"What other reason would there be for you to not show yourself?"

"I prefer the dark," he answered. "But...I'll make an exception for you."

I heard him pull on the string of a lamp and light flooded the room. I blinked to adjust to the brightness and I looked around the area. It was an empty room and every wall was completely black. I wasn't even sure they were even walls. They looked like they could go on forever, but at the same time, I was definitely on some sort of surface.

My eyes landed back on the man who seemed responsible for my being here and he crossed his arms as he gave me a dark Cheshire smile. I studied his features but I couldn't place him as anyone I knew.

He was wearing an all-black suit and his black hair was gelled back. He looked neat and put together and it somehow completely contrasted the chilling craziness in his black eyes.

I held back the frown trying to etch its way onto my face when I noticed that there was no white in his eyes. It was completely black and unsettling. I'd seen something similar with demons but it wasn't like this. They could usually only keep it that way for a few seconds.

"I forgot that you hadn't seen my eyes this way yet," he said.

"What do you mean yet?"

"Am I that unrecognizable?" He questioned with a raised brow.

"I don't know who the fuck you are and I don't care to be honest with you," I admitted.

"Wow," he laughed as he held a hand over his chest. "That's kind of rude, don't you think?"

"Isn't it also rude to kidnap someone? I don't need a lesson in manners from you."

He pursed his lips and nodded slowly. "Fair enough. Can I get you something to drink?"

"No."

"I'll get you some water," he said as he snapped his fingers for someone to come. "I brought you here because I'm in a bit of a bind at the moment."
