Queen

He looked at me momentarily before nodding and tilting his head towards the passenger seat. "Get in the car."

I gave him a small smile and shook my head. I didn't need to be with him long after everything that just happened. I truly wished I could, but it's wrong. "I can't. I should go-"

"I wasn't asking, Beverly," he said lowly. "We can go to a pharmacy to get the morning after shit then I'll drive you home. I don't want you out here this late."

I looked around at the dark city and felt a cold breeze hit me. I was able to take care of myself but I missed having Syn around. Who knows when I may see him next after tonight. I wrapped my arms around myself and nodded as I walked towards the door.

I quickly got into the car and sat on the comfortable seat as I closed the door. I felt eyes on me and smiled when I turned to see Syn looking at me. "What?" I asked softly as I put on the seatbelt.

He started the car and smiled back at me as he shook his head and looked away. "Nothing." He looked out of the window in focus and pulled out of the parking lot. He drove quietly with ease with one arm on the steering wheel and the other rested on the armrest.

My eyes immediately moved away from him when he glanced in my direction. Shit, could you be more obvious? I bounced my leg nervously and toyed with my fingers in my lap. I hadn't been this nervous in years. I learned to control my nerves so I could be more intimidating to Hell's enemies, but around Syn, nothing worked. I felt exposed and naked under his gaze and in his company. A company that I had missed so much for these past years.

His hand on my thigh was the next contact that made my heart skip a beat. I bit my lip as I looked at his muscular hand caressing my thigh, and then I looked up at him. "Relax, Beverly."

"I'm relaxed," I said with a small laugh.

"Do you have to go home right now?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean," he started. "Stay with me."

Yes. I wanted to give in so badly. Desperately even. I would've wanted to stay with him forever if he asked, but I couldn't. Lucifer asked me to not let him remember, and that's what I needed to do. Besides, I just cheated on Dimitri, I didn't deserve to be happy right now.

"I can't. I need to go-,"

"With your boyfriend?" He asked lowly. I watched as his jaw clenched and his hand gripped the steering wheel. When I didn't answer he glanced at me. "No worries, we did just meet after all."

"Yeah," I lied in a quiet voice as I turned my head back to the window. For a moment it felt like I had him back, but reality set in. He doesn't remember me.

"But I do plan on getting to know you," he said. "Boyfriend or not." My heart raced at his words but I remained quiet as he pulled into the parking lot of a store. He parked the car and got out and I did the same and closed the door behind me. I felt his hand snake around my hip and I jumped to turn around and face him.

He smirked at my jumpiness and looked down at me. "I was going to open the door for you."

"How was I supposed to know?"

He shook his head in amusement and pulled away from me to walk towards the small store. I made long strides in my heels to keep up with him and when he saw me staggering back he momentarily stopped for me to catch up.

"You can't walk in heels?" He asked as we walked into the store.

"I can, you just walk incredibly fast."
