~Daniel 6:21-22~
WEB: Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever. My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, have I done no hurt.
NLT: Daniel answered, "Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty."
Meaning: I'm sure some of you are familiar with the story if Daniel { if not, check out the book of Daniel in the bible:) } A quick summary of the part I am talking about today... basically the King really likes Daniel, so he puts him in charge of several major things in his kingdom and these other men become jealous. So, they convince the King to issue a law that allows people to only worship the King, no other Gods ( they did this because the knew Daniel was a follower of Christ). After this new law was declared, Daniel went home right away to pray. That shows an amazing dedication to serve God right there...he was willing to get arrested because of what he believed! Yet he still prayed, he still stood strong in his faith and put on his armour for God! From this, we can see the importance of standing firm in our faith no matter what the situation. Also, prayer is an incredible weapon, something that can help us through those times! The story goes on and Daniel is caught praying and is throw into a den of lions. Things aren't looking so great. But God shines a light of hope, protecting Daniel by closing the mouths of the lions, so he is not hurt at all!
God is out shield, an ever present help in times of troubled. This is an amazing example of Gods protection, how he is watching over us. God loves you so much! So stand firm in your faith, and he promises he will never leave you not forsake you, even when you are in the "lion dens" of your life.
