Proverbs 11:28
NCV: Those who trust in riches will be ruined, but a good person will be healthy like a green leaf.
NIV: Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
Meaning: Proverbs is the book of wisdom. Tips on life, how to act. Little pieces of helpful information that help us through our daily lives or with bigger decisions...things like that. Today's piece of life advice or words of wisdom: trust! I talked about thriving and flourishing vs. just surviving in a different post of mine, and that same idea is illustrated here! The "simply surviving" or how we will become ruined in this case is placing our trust in money or on other earthly things. Temporary things we won't have forever, so why trust them? Its great to enjoy our things or the people we spend time with, but are we trusting them more then we trust God? Easier said then done, but a great question to ask yourself. The healthy, green- leaf side to this is placing our trust in God. Being more righteous.
The all knowing, all mighty God, who is the beginning and the end vs. Earthly possessions and things.... which one would you rather anchor your trust in?
