Todays verse: Psalm 34:13

NIV: Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
NVC: You must not say evil things,
and you must not tell lies.

Meaning: Words are powerful. Thinking before you speak is something that we are constantly told to do, but can be difficult but in the long run, is very very important! This verse is telling us to not say evil things... Things like gossip, lying or rude comments. I recently read this quote: "Speaking without thinking is like shooting without aiming." If you think about it, that is SO true. What we say should not be bringing down other people, instead it should be encouraging and uplifting!! When we don't think before we speak and say something that we regret, it is impossible to take back. There's no way you can change what has been a said. The way we talk should reflect our faith in God and should show love and kindness to people around us:)

Take Action!!

I know this is easy said then done, but try this this week at school. Next time you find you and your friends gossiping behind someone's back, be the person to make it stop. It's not like you have to boldly step out and say "Guys, were gossiping-stop!", you could however change the subject or say something nice about that person. Next time you have the urge to say something unpleasing to God, stop and think of this verses and remember this command our Heavenly Father has given us:)

Have a great week and be sure to check out or new book which will be out realllly soon!!!
God bless:)
