A Warning against Prejudice
NLT: Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?
Meaning: Being quick to judge is something we all are defiantly guilty of. You see that person, what they are wearing, what they are doing and we judge them. Back up a bit to James 1:2 which states that how can you say you are a Christian and you have faith in Jesus if you favor certain people? Now that's something to think about.
Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is just how to shine a light for God in all that we do. It's so great to be able to maybe share your testimony with someone and share your faith in that way.... but how an we truly shine a light God and glorify in the small but significant aspects of our life. By treating people equally, trying not to judge based on what we see and showing them God's love! Cause this verse tells us that the poor, the humble, the people rich in not possessions but faith will inherit the kingdom of God. :)
