NIV: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
Meaning: In whatever you do, dont do it for yourself. Think of others before yourself! Do it for the glory of God!! Make sure everything you do glorifys God, dont have idol that gets in the way! Give up things to show God he is before everyone else. God should be the first priority in your life, don't try to go the "cool" way. Being Christian and walking the Christian path is pretty darn cool I think! Be proud of yourself! Don't let others send you on the wrong path. On the wall in my church it says "love God, love others, serve the world." Put everything towards God, cast all your worries on him. Don't boast to others just to fit in. Us Christians want to stand out, be different! You dont necicarally want to fit in with society. Society is cruel sometimes.
Take Action: Honestly just try to put other before yourselves. Don't think about you before everyone else. Hold the door open for someone, let someone go ahead of you in line. Don't be gready, you'll get what you need or where you need to go eventually. Even if it takes a little bit longer, you shouldn't mind!
