Today's verse: Leviticus 19:28
NIV: Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.
NCV: You must not cut your body to show sadness for someone who died or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.
Meaning: Cutting happens a lot in today's society. I know quite a few people who cut. It just breaks my heart to think that people cut themselves when they are feeling down. God doesn't want to see you harming your body! Seeing you hurt and ruin your own skin that he worked so hard to make, upsets him. He put his heart and soul into making you and to see you purposely hurt yourself is horrible! Now for the tattoo portion of the verse. Personaly, I don't find anything wrong with tattoos as long as they have a deep meaning! I know people who have tattoos for God or to remember a lost loved one, those I think are okay. But it's really a matter of opinion. This verse says that God doesn't want you to cover your body in tattoos. It's a personal choice so whatever you do is up to you!
Take action: PEOPLE LISTEN UP!!! We all have gotten down on ourselves, maybe even thought about cutting. You must be strong! Whenever I feel super down on myself I read the bible and pray! I always end up feeling revived and so much better after! Soooo next time you feel like you need to cut or something, go spend some time with God. He will guide you!
