AU: A carnival
Age: 19

Dates with Cody were always fun. You both always went on some adventure whether it be going to McDonald's at two am or doing anything carefree and childish. You've been together for eight months, going strong.
You and Cody were sitting on a Ferris wheel, at the carnival and so far had an easygoing, yet exciting day.
"Isn't the view just beautiful?" You ask, smiling and leaning your head onto Cody.
You could see the entire carnival from the Ferris wheel. The sun bled into the clouds, and birds chirped from the distance.
Cody chuckled, putting his arm around you. "Not as beautiful as you."
"Whatever." You laugh. "Don't try to get cheesy on me!"
"I wasn't." Cody said. "You really are beautiful."
You blushed lightly and found his hand in yours, enjoying the rest of the ride in silence.
-
"I wish that lasted forever!" You sighed, getting off the Ferris wheel.
Cody took your hand, and asked, "Me too. So what should we do now?"
"How about we play basketball?" You suggest, looking over at the arcade games.
"I don't know.." Cody said, unsure. "I'm not very good at sports."
"You don't have to be to play." You told him. "Besides, don't we always try new things together?"
Cody nodded, and you both walked over to the arcade section.
-
"I keep losing!" Cody whined, trying to shoot the basketball in. So far, Cody gained one point and you got six.
You giggled, "No! You got one in."
"But still."
"You need to aim higher." You told him. Cody nodded, and shot the ball as high as he could.
"Ouch!" You winced, feeling the ball hit your face.
Cody stopped playing and wrapped his arms around you. "Are you okay?"
You nodded, "Yeah, just a small headache."
Cody looked down in shame. "I'm sorry, I should've been more careful."
"Don't be. You still did great." You smiled, assuring him.
"Hey, I've been watching you two from my station. I just wanted to say I was impressed by your playing, Y/N." You heard someone say from behind you. You and Cody turned around, seeing it was Alejandro.
"Thank you." You smiled.
Alejandro grins and says, "Do you want me to get you a drink? It must've been tiring for a pretty lady like yourself to shoot all those hoops."
You smiled, sheepishly. "It's okay!"
"I'll get you a drink anyway. Stay here, I'll be back."
You watched Alejandro walk away, then heard Cody huff from beside you.
"Isn't it weird how he just waltz here and says he's been watching us, then offers you a drink afterwards?" Cody pointed out.
You shrugged, "I don't find it weird."
Alejandro arrived, as promised with your drink, which was a mango shake, along with a bag of tokens.
"Do you want to challenge each other?" Alejandro asked.
You didn't want to say no to him, because he got you a drink, which was a nice gesture. Plus, he bought tokens, which would be a waste, if you refused.
"Sure!" You smiled. Alejandro put the coins in, and you two started the game.
Cody sighed, watching you and Alejandro play. He didn't like it, but he began to feel jealous. It was bad enough that he hit you with a basketball and the fact that you're spending time with another guy makes him feel worse.
"Wow!" You exclaimed. "You didn't miss a single shot. I'm impressed."
Cody's jaw clenched in anger. He wanted to leave, but he knew it would upset you. So he decided to put up with the exchange, no matter how hurtful it is.
After a few more rounds, Alejandro had to leave.
"That was fun." You smiled, walking with Cody.
Cody smiled, despite feeling jealous. "I'm glad you had fun, Y/N."
You spotted crane and smiled, "Those bears look so cute."
Cody looked towards the crane and immediately had an idea.
"I'll win you one."
Before you could protest, Cody put a token in the slot and reached for a big blue bear. He didn't win the first try, but kept going.
"Cody." You began. "You don't have to win anything for me. Let's just find something else to do."
"No!" Cody replied. "I'm going to win this bear for you. Trust me."
You sighed, deciding not to argue with him.
"Mi amor?" Alejandro questioned, walking up to you guys.
"Hi Alejandro." You sighed. "Cody is trying to win me a bear, but you see he's struggling. I keep telling him no and he won't stop."
"Agh! I'm gonna get more coins." Cody grumbled, holding the empty coin bag.
"Let me." Alejandro smirked, going to the crane machine.
Cody stared at Alejandro, already killing him three times in his head.
In one try, Alejandro won the bear and handed it to you. He winked, causing you to blush.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Cody shouted.
You gave him a worried look. "What's wrong babe?"
"Everything!" He yelled. He sent a glare at Alejandro and stormed off.
"I'm sorry about him." You said to Alejandro. "But I gotta check on him."
Alejandro nodded in understanding.
-
"Cody!" You called, looking for him. You've been searching for the last ten minutes on where he is and he didn't answer your calls.
Just as you were about to give up, you spotted him sitting on a bench.
"Cody!" He turned, and frowned at you.
"What's wrong with you?" You asked. "Why are you being so silly?"
"I'm not being silly." Cody snapped. "Is this a date with me or with Alejandro?"
"What are you talking about?"
"First, you both are all over each other back at the arcade, then he wins you a bear, when for once I just want to do something to impress you. It's not fair."
You realized he was being jealous, and pulled him into a hug. Cody looked at you in shock, shakily hugging you back.
"I'm sorry you feel that way." You told him, softly. "But you have nothing to worry about. You're the only one for me."
Cody sighed. "I'm sorry for overreacting. I just get scared to lose you, you know?"
You chuckled, then kissed his cheek. "There's nothing to be afraid of. You'll never lose me."
You gave him the bear that Alejandro won. "Thank you for being so thoughtful though. You didn't have to win me anything to prove it."
Cody blushed lightly, and smiled. "I know that now."
Your hand intertwined with his, and you both walked towards the sunset.
