Setting: The woods
Note: I aged Axel the same for this story, since she's canonically younger than them in the series.

Love, understanding, and adventure were common themes in your unconventional relationship with Duncan, Noah, and Axel. You were like the four muskateers going off on some random adventure that either involved pranks with Duncan, survival training with Axel, library dates with Noah, and ice cream dates with you.
Duncan and Axel were the most adventurous and mischievous ones in the relationship with Duncan being the troublemaker who always gets caught, and with Axel being the zombie hunter with anger problems.
You and Noah were the more levelheaded ones with Noah being a sarcastic bookworm with a kind heart, and with you being the more feminine girl of the relationship who had never stepped out of your comfort zone. So, you can imagine that everyday, there is never a dull moment in the relationship.
Today, Duncan and Axel decided to take you and Noah on a camping trip in the forest, where Axel could be on the lookout for zombies, and Duncan could cause a little trouble. Noah was a little irritated with their idea, but went along with it.
The sun was setting, so you all knew you had to hurry before it got darker. You found a comfortable spot to camp in the forest, then helped the three set up the camp. You waited by the campfire with Noah, while Axel and Duncan ventured off to get more supplies.
"Do you think those two would cause more trouble than usual today?" You chuckled, leaning onto Noah's shoulder, watching Axel disappear into the woods.
Noah laughed, bringing you into a hug. "I wouldn't be surprised."
You continued to snuggle Noah on a blanket while watching the clouds together, until you heard Axel storm towards the campground.
"Here." She said, holding up roasted pieces of meat. "I caught a boar that was roaming around. Dig in."
"Thanks Axel!" You beamed, taking out a paper plate. Axel set the roasted meat onto your plate.
Noah grimaced. "Um.. I'll pass."
"I didn't catch this for nothing. Eat!" Axel growled, shoving the piece closer to him.
Noah glanced at the roasted boar, then slowly nodded taking it onto his plate. "I wish we could've brought extra food."
"Nonsense." Axel snapped, sitting beside you and Noah. "When the zombie apocalypse comes, we can't keep relying on resources being handed to us. We need to survive on our own."
"Right." Noah sighed, taking a bite of the roast. "Mm.. This isn't that bad."
Axel smiled proudly. Duncan came towards the campground with an excited expression, "Guys! You wouldn't believe what I discovered."
"What is it?" You asked, taking a drink of water.
"I found an abandoned house! Let's explore it." Duncan told you, gesturing towards deeper in the woods.
Noah tensed up, then glanced at your nervous expression. He spoke up, "Duncan, I don't think that's a good idea. It's already dark, and I don't think it would be safe."
"Don't be such a buzzkill." Duncan laughed, gesturing you to follow him. "Come on!"
Axel shrugged then got up to follow Duncan. You and Noah glanced at each other nervously, before following suit.
Duncan led you all to the abandoned house deep into the forest, and you felt chills down your spine. The abandoned house looked like it was straight out of a horror movie. You weren't sure what to believe with the paranormal, but the rustling leaves and eerie silence filled you with an overwhelming sense of dread. Sensing your distress, Noah enveloped you in his arms, whispering for you to relax.
"Guys." Noah said, causing Axel and Duncan to look towards you. "Y/N is scared. I think we should go back."
"No." Axel laughed, heading closer to the abandoned house. "I want to take a look at this. This is good to practice my survival skills."
You buried your face further into Noah's chest, while he rubbed your back, whispering that you would be okay. Axel glanced back at you, with a hint of concern etched across her face. However, her obsession with survival training overshadowed her decisions.
Without warning, Duncan picked up a rock then flung it towards the building's window. A bunch of bats flew out, surrounding the four of you.
"Woah!" Duncan laughed, while Axel tried to grab one to kill.
"I caught it!" Axel exclaimed, holding up the dead bat.
Having enough, you ended up shaking your head then trying to walk away. You knew it was normal for Axel and Duncan to get caught in mischief, but sometimes you wished there was a middle ground.
"Y/N?" Duncan asked, with Axel running up to you. Axel caught up to you, flinging the dead bat onto the ground.
"What's wrong?" Axel asked, frowning in concern. She knelt to the ground, waiting for answers.
"I just.. I wish we could find a middle ground to this." You admitted, looking down. "I love our adventures together, but killing a bat and going to an abandoned house at night is too extreme. Can't we just kill a fish and go to the abandoned house in the morning instead?"
Noah smiled proudly, as you voiced your concerns. He was usually the one who spoke up for you, so this was a big step for both of you.
"But if we soften up, our adventures would lose its spark!" Duncan argued back, walking closer to you. Axel glared at him, slightly.
Noah stepped into the middle of the three of you, then said, "Compromising doesn't mean to sacrifice the fun of your adventures, we just need to find a balance. After all, that's what we all agreed to since we got into this relationship, right?"
"Yeah.. Sorry about that, Y/N." Axel whispered. She tried to give you a hug, but you stepped back, giggling playfully.
"Babe, you need to wash your hands first, then I'll hug you." You chuckled, remembering that she killed a bat.
Axel blushed in embarrassment. "Oh yeah."
You chuckled, then leaned in to kiss her cheek. "But I still love you, my hardcore survivalist."
"What about me?" Duncan whined, playfully. He nudged Noah, winking at him.
"Yeah, me too!" Noah played along, a smirk playing on his lips.
You rolled your eyes, laughing. "I still love you idiots."
"So we're idiots and Axel is hardcore. Ouch!" Noah said, trying to hide his amusement.
Duncan pouted, then linked his arms around Noah's. "Let's go Noah! Axel and Y/N want alone time together."
They held in their laugh, as they pretended to walk away, and you and Axel glanced at each other, laughing.
"I really hate them sometimes." Axel groaned, stifling her laugh. "Let's chase them."
You and Axel chased Duncan and Noah back to camp, with all your laughter echoing through the forest.
When you all arrived at the camp, the tension from earlier disappeared, and you shared jokes about what happened. Axel took out a hand sanitizer from her bag, cleansing her hands from earlier.
"Can I have my hug now?" She pouted, holding out her hands. "I cleaned my hands."
You nodded eagerly, then Axel engulfed you into a bear hug. She kissed your forehead. "You're adorable."
"Share the love with the rest of us!" Duncan teased, wrapping his arms around both of you.
"Leave me out, why don't you?" Noah chuckled, moving closer to you guys.
There under the stars, you all cuddled, talking about your plans in the forest for the next day.
After the events of tonight, Duncan and Axel realized that compromising didn't mean giving up their interests entirely, but finding ways to accommodate each other's needs and fears. While they realized that, you and Noah also realized that it is okay to embrace new experiences, even if they seem scary at first.
Your relationship with each other may seem unconventional at a surface level, but with compromise and understanding, it could thrive. You all knew you were more than lucky to have each other and embrace and love each other's differences.
