I was in the parking lot of the Fulton County prison waiting for Derek when my mother called me upset that I went back on our agreement that I'd go back home to New York if she paid the rest of Derek's bail.
"You really love that boy." She asked.
"Yeah mom, I really do and he's a great father to our daughter. Besides $10,000 is a Chanel bag for you."
I heard the gate buzz and I was so happy to see my man. "Mom, I'll talk to you later."
I walked towards Derek, practically running. He picked me up, spinning me around hugging me. There were no words, just pure silence as we happily embraced each other.

We got back to Miss C's house to get Destiny and the whole salon was happy to see Derek showering him with hugs.
"How you feelin?" Miss C asked.
"Still got some ways to go, but I'm just happy to be out. I've missed my sexy woman." Derek said kissing me. "Where's my princess?"
"She's upstairs, Star was giving her a bath." Simone said.
"Tell her to bring her down. I miss my child."
"Derek, no. I don't want people snapping pictures of her." I intervened.
"Ok." Derek said grabbing my hand as we went upstairs.
"I barged in our old room and Destiny was still wrapped in her towel as Star was getting her ready.
"What's up Derek?! Glad to see you home!" Star said hugging him.
"Same, hey daddy's princess! Babe, look at her smile! I was only locked up for a few days, but I swear I've missed so much."
He went to pick her up, but Star intervened.
"Aht-Aht! I know you wanna love on your child, but let me put her clothes on first."

"That's fine. I'll just love on my wife instead." Derek said as he turned to me.
"Oh really?" I smiled gazing at him.
"Yes really. C'mere." He pulled me into a deep kiss.
"Ok, she's ready! Yall are gonna make me throw up." Star said handing Destiny to Derek as she went downstairs.

"Daddy missed you sooo much princess." Derek said planting kisses all over her face
"Say, yo también te eché de menos, papá.." Alex cooed kissing Destiny's hand.
"Hol' up, you teaching her Spanish? What you tell her to say?"
"Yes, and you need to learn too. I told her to say I missed you too, daddy."
"Hell nah. I fucked the English outta you, now you speaking Spanish everyday."
"Derek, don't talk like that in front of her."
"She's a baby."
I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm about to go home and shower. I wanna spend some time with my fave girls. I've missed yall."
"We've missed you too." We kissed again. "Let's sneak out the back."

After we showered, we just laid in bed with Destiny sleeping between us. He was staring at the ceiling lost in his thoughts.
"Baby, you ok?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm good, just tryin' not to think about everything that's goin' on. I just want it all to be over." I stayed quiet as he looked me.
"Alex, I can't go back to prison. Being away from Destiny, away from you damn near killed me."
I grabbed his hand, "Derek, everything is gonna be fine. We got you." I kissed him repeatedly. "I gotta get some rest, I have rehearsal tomorrow. We're competing in Atlantas next fest."
"I'm glad you're getting into the singing thing. Like I know you love interior designing, but you love music more."
"Yeah, music will always be a part of me, and plus I've been taking a step back from interior design so I can watch my baby grow."
"Whatever you do Alex, just follow your dreams. I love you."
