"That works." I said softly chuckling.
Star came into our bedroom we all once shared and I instantly became annoyed.
"What's up?" She asked.
I looked at Simone to speak up because I wasn't. "Derek wants us to sing for the protest."
"I like that." Star said.
"I told him I was sure. I didn't want it to become just another social media op for us." I said looking at her.
"You mean me." Star rolled eyes. "Why don't you just say it?"
"You like the spotlight more than the music. Look, we're taking a stand for Danielle and her family. But I can't imagine you know what everyday people go through."
Star became frustrated. "Everyday people like who, you? No, I can't. Bitch, I'm every day people. I wasn't born with a silver spoon up my ass."
