It was the middle of the night, and I quietly slipped into the house. Careful not to disturb her sleep, I headed to the guest bathroom for a shower. Once I was done, I put on my du-rag and boxers and made my way to my room.

Taking a moment to observe her, I couldn't help but feel grateful for having such a beautiful woman in my life. I silently offered a prayer of thanks to the man upstairs. She was curled up on my pillow, wearing one of my t-shirts.

Instead of waking her up, I decided to replace the pillow with my own body and held her close. As her eyes slowly opened, I greeted her with affection, stroking her face.

"Hey beautiful," I said softly.

"Derek? Oh my gosh! What are you doing here?" She jumped up excitedly, wrapping her arms around me.

I groaned with delight, returning the embrace. "Mmmm! I had to come back to my babies," I replied. Her tears fell onto my shoulders.

"Babe, why are you crying?" I asked.

"I've missed you so much."

I wanted to mention that it had only been two and a half days, but I decided to keep it to myself.

"Well, daddy's here now." We let go of the hug, and I gently wiped away her tears.

"Give me those sexy lips and come lay back down," I teased, wiping away the remaining tears.

She snuggled up next to me as I held her close.

"How are Miss Ruby and Mr. Bo doing?" I asked.

"Nothing's changed with Bo, and grandma isn't doing well. She still hasn't made a decision."

"It's a sad situation, and I feel terrible. I hope a miracle happens. They're so in love, and I don't know what I'd do if something like that happened to you."

"Same here, baby. Let's get some sleep."

Alex POV

I woke up the next morning, and as I opened my eyes, there was Derek, gazing at me with such adoration.

"Good morning, why are you staring at me like that?" I couldn't help but smile, feeling the warmth of his gaze.

"I'm just deeply in love with you, Alexandra."

I gently held his face in my hands, my heart brimming with affection.

"I'm in love with you too, Derek." His kiss enveloped me, radiating an overwhelming sense of love.

After our sweet embrace, we went about our morning routine, and he cooked breakfast for us.

"What does your day hold?" I inquired, genuinely interested.

"Since I'll be here, I'm heading to the shop to work. You wanna come and keep me company?"

"I wish I could, but I have to go out today to meet clients. But I'll be waiting for you when you return." I winked playfully and blew him a kiss.
