As a skilled hunter, patience is indeed crucial, especially when tracking prey. It's important to have patience, especially when you can't make a kill with a single blow; you need to take your time. Mu Bai certainly possesses this patience, as seen in her willingness to wait until the Management Bureau is settled by Li Mo and Wen Runan before embarking on her search for her lover.

After sending Sheng Qingyin back home, the frequency of their communication through WeChat has decreased.

Although Sheng Qingyin might act foolish at times, she can be quite perceptive in certain situations. She sensed that Mu Bai was treating her differently and, following her instincts, created some distance between them.

Specifically, Sheng Qingyin no longer responds to Mu Bai's messages. Over the past week, her last message remains as simple as three words: "Washed up."

Mu Bai quickly noticed this change, and she could likely guess what Sheng Qingyin was thinking. As a result, they didn't discuss work-related matters, and starting from the third day, they only exchanged morning and evening greetings.

In theory, Mu Bai's cooperation should have provided some relief for Sheng Qingyin. However, reality seemed to prove otherwise.

Sheng Qingyin, sitting cross-legged on the couch with her bare feet, frowned as she stared intently at the WeChat chat interface. She scrolled down, and a string of "Good morning" and "Good night" messages flashed before her eyes, increasingly agitating her.

Mu Bai's behavior baffled Sheng Qingyin. It had only been a week without a response, yet she felt slighted by the limited interaction - just "good morning" and "good night" messages. Was Mu Bai some sort of automated response machine?

Pouting her cheeks, as Sheng Qingyin contemplated whether to initiate a conversation with Mu Bai, she noticed something new under Mu Bai's nickname: the message "typing..."

Sheng Qingyin raised an eyebrow, feeling a hint of satisfaction.

Mu Bai must have finally given in. She had likely encountered problems at work again, and Sheng Qingyin couldn't help but feel that her work capability was quite lacking.

After about ten seconds, Sheng Qingyin received a new message, although its contents didn't please her.

Mu Bai: [Image attached]

Mu Bai: Miss Sheng, the osmanthus near the company is in full bloom. It's very fragrant and lovely.

Just this? After not bothering with her for so long, she doesn't even ask if I'm upset?

Sheng Qingyin wasn't pleased. She felt neglected and decided to compose a message. Her fingers moved rapidly, and she sent it off.

Sheng Qingyin: In the future, if it's not something essential, please don't message me.

Mu Bai: I apologize. Did I disturb you, Miss Sheng?

Sheng Qingyin: Yes, I don't want to receive meaningless messages; it's a waste of my precious time.

Mu Bai: I understand, I'm truly sorry. I won't send casual messages to Miss Sheng in the future.

After sending this message, Mu Bai put her phone away and then tiptoed to collect the osmanthus flowers from the tree.

True to her word, after the apology, she didn't send any more messages, not even the usual morning or goodnight wishes. Besides keeping their chat pinned, she didn't make any additional efforts to hold her attention.

"You want to apply for a transfer? Why?" Fu Xing held the transfer request in his hand, furrowing his brows. "Is there an issue with your work?"
