After some sulking and negotiations, they finally decided to take showers separately, so that another good two hours wouldn't be wasted in petting, and most probably  –  shower sex.

The sulking was done by Jiang Wanyin, naturally, but Lan Xichen wailed that "I'm so damn starving, Wanyin! I could eat you  up for breakfast, Wanyin! Let's go have brunch somewhere, Wanyin!!!"

Yea, that didn't make things better, not really.

So, Jiang Cheng took a shower first, now fussing in the kitchen with a towel wrapped around his head so as to soak the water from his long hair as much as possible, while Lan Xichen was under the shower.

He was smiling to himself; it was so good to know that his lover was so close by, that he could go and touch him any second he wanted to...

What was this warm, domestic feeling? It was so weird. Was this how married couples felt? All the time?!

He remembered Lan Huan's pushiness to propose to him, while taking out some products from the fridge. He still had no idea what he was going to cook for a small breakfast while they were getting ready to leave. His mind was all focused on the words "and I'll bring you a ring"; he didn't seem to be able to let go of those words.

He dared not think about the future.

Ever since he was a little child  –  he had never even dreamed of dreaming about the future. Both him and A-Li were used to living just for the day. Right now, he had a great job, extremely well-paid, but all the money was being neatly collected in a box under his bed, and it all was going to go soon. He frowned, remembering San San's words... He had a little more time, until the end of January. Almost done.

Still frowning, he glared murderously at the products on the table. He had found some crackers, a couple of bananas, some leftover strawberries (remaining after a fancy cake recipe, no doubt, San Ji was crazy to be buying the super expensive strawberries in mid-winter!),  some pear jam... hmmm... and some milk... He had a couple of eggs, and some yoghurt, and some juice...

Well, was there any flour left at all? San Ji had been experimenting with weird pastry recipes lately, and the probability was... Oh yes! A little bit of flour was left indeed.

He smiled slightly. He already knew what he was going to cook. Fast and easy.

 Fast and easy
