"Bad news." Jessie said, sitting across from Fayth on the lunch table. "You're being nominated to phase two right now."

Fayth dropped her spoon. "What?!" She breathed in disbelief.

"Most of the Academy is voting for your number. And they are questioning who you are. I can't do anything about it and its driving me insane since it's my fault."

Fayth reached over and took a hold of his hands, her heart sinking to her knees. "Jessie, please. Please find a solution. If Lexis's father finds out—" She quickly stopped talking.

Jessie's eyebrows pulled together. He breathed out a sigh filled with confusion and looked up at Fayth again.

"Rihanna. I really didn't want to ask you this knowing its fully out of line, but curiosity is killing me now. What's going on? Is your name really Rihanna? Who are you really? Do we know each other? Why does it feel like I've seen you before?"

Fayth looked at their joint hands. She trusted Jessie. Fully too. She trusted herself to tell him anything and not end up regretting it, but she also trusted his relationship with Lexis. If Lexis found out who she was, it'll be horrid and dreadful.

She shook her head. "Can't you just trust me? I'm not doing anything wrong, believe me. I'm just in a situation where I need to be like this right now."

He sighed. "I wish you could tell me. I might be able to help you more."

Fayth bit her bottom lip, reconsidering. If she asked him not to tell Lexis and emphasized on it, then surely he wouldn't and Lexis would never find out.

"To be honest," She took in a deep breath. "My real name is—"

A hand grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the lunch table. She stared at Charles, who stood there angry as could be. "What the hell are you doing?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing." She said, pulling her arm away.

"Why are you sitting with him? I thought it was over."

"What's over?" Jessie asked, coming over and standing next to Fayth.

Charles smirked. Fed up with him, he said, "Didn't you know you're ga—"

Fayth stood on tiptoes and pressed her lips on Charles'. When she pulled away, she took his hand in hers and squeezed the life out of it. "Actually, Charles and I are dating."

Charles smirked. "And I sure as hell don't want to see my woman sitting with another man."

Jessie didn't like this. He actually looked pissed by it. "Why do you think you can control her like that?"

Charles smirked and stared at Jessie with a mocking expression. He put an arm around Fayth's waist and pulled her closer. "You know what, I think I can."

"Don't talk to him like that." Fayth said, gritting her teeth.

Charles huffed a breath. "Remember what I said?" He said, regarding the threat. He leaned in and pressed his lips against Fayth's. It was that moment, that moment that Fayth realized that beyond everyone, beyond all there is and all the muddled feelings that she felt, that maybe, just maybe, she can let go now and enjoy herself for a moment. And so she kissed Charles back, fully letting herself go.

Lexis walked into the dining hall, and froze at the sight that had captured everyone's attention. What shook him most was Fayth, who held on to Charles, enjoying his embrace.

His bland expression became sullen with discreet anger.

Fayth pulled back.

Jessie was gone.

Charles was smiling. "You kissed back." He said, relief washing over his face.

Fayth smiled. "Might as well."

"Does that mean..."

Fayth looked down at her feet, feeling her face blush. "Hmm?"

"Does that mean that we're dating now?" Charles asked, tilting his head a bit to look at her face.

Fayth's face blushed warmer. "I-I guess."

Charles took a step closer to her. "Do you want to go on a date? Tonight?"

She looked up at him through her eyelashes. "Sure."

Charles's world flipped in that moment. Everything miserable became incredibly euphoric. "I'll meet you at six. We'll sneak out using the blind spot."
