It was getting dark outside, and curfew time was almost in. Rihanna was exhausted. Not only did she walk through the whole Academy and still barely got to know her classrooms, she had to also deal with Connor's challenge obsessed personality.

She walked up the stairs toward the girls' dormitory. The lights had been dimmed down, which usually meant that curfew was in its last thirty minutes.

She made her way to her dorm, her feet heavy and her heart even heavier as she thought of what's at the end of the hall. She wished for anything that can change her destination, but knew well that nothing was going keep her away from what was ahead.

He's... different. He makes me–

The sound of footsteps came silently from behind her. They were slow at first, almost random, but they picked up speed as she unconsciously did so too. The sound of the shoes were heavier and the wide steps indicated it was a male behind them.

What is a guy doing in the girl's dormitory?

Breathing in and out calmly, she swallowed her fear and walked fast.

The footsteps accelerated to match her speed.

It's a girl. She's going to her dorm. It's a girl. It's a girl. It's not him.

She felt him so close behind her now. A feeling of anxiety overcame her as she realized the footsteps were gaining up on her. She was sure–certain without a single doubt–that she was being followed.

Her body drowned in fear. Shutting her eyes tight and reopening them, she let out a deep breath and began running.

Her suspicions were confirmed. The person behind her began to run too.

Why won't he at least say something...?

She rounded the last turn, deciding she'll take a glance behind her at the same time to see who it was. Instead, she came crashing against a person who quickly grabbed her and held her tightly to keep her from falling to the tiled ground.

She opened her eyes, which she'd shut on impulse.

There, inches away from her own, was Jessie's face. Staring at her intently with worry and question. She had never felt more relieved to see someone. She had never felt anything like the feeling that stretched her chest, freed her soul, opened her heart... as he held her in his arms.

Jessie stared back at Rihanna. Her face was caught in terror. Right away he knew that she was running away. And as he listened to the retreating footsteps, he was a push away from checking who it was that terrified her like this.

Instead, he was entrapped by her embrace.

By the closeness of them together.

It... challenged all his morals.
