Kurt kept quiet for the next few minutes. He went back to the cabinet and brought back an electric knife sharpener, then leaned in and took ahold of the loose wire around Fayth's neck and ran it into the small machine.

The sound of the metal getting sharpened made her want to vomit.

He walked away and put the machine back, then brought back a shovel and put it next to the door for later when he digs a hole outside the warehouse to throw the two pieces of her into.

He made his way back to her and began micromanaging the wired noose, making sure it was sharp enough and strong enough to hold her weight before he can begin pulling the stack of wooden blocks from under her stool... one by one.

Anthony reached the doorway and looked in.

It took all of his self-control to not scream at the sight in front of him. His jaw hung open, his eyes immediately filling up with tears as he stared at Fayth. Slashes of blood streaks drew lines across her back, stomach, arms, thighs, and legs. Her head was tilted to the side, held midair by a wire that was around her neck, and she was breathing heavily, her eyes closed, her bottom lip quivering with her hands.

Anthony wanted to run in.

To hold her.

To do to him what he did to her.

He had never been more distraught, shocked, outraged by anything. A feeling, a feeling so evil dominated him for the first time in all his life. It was ugly, and powerful, and right.

I'm going to kill him.

But he didn't want to be stupid. He saw the way these rash decisions end up too many times on TV shows. Instead, he grabbed a shovel that was placed nearby and quietly walked towards Kurt.

Feeling satisfied with his loop around her neck, Kurt leaned down and pulled the first wooden block from under the stool. There were three more before the wire would go at least three inches into her neck.

Fayth's eyes flew open, and she began gagging uncontrollably as the wire dug into her skin. She felt the sharpness of it, the pain surpassing what she had felt across her body moments ago. As she opened her eyes, she noticed someone, and she barely glanced over, barely had time to warn the beautiful angel to run as far as he could away from this place, before Kurt felt his presence and turned around.

Anthony swung the shovel.

It hit Kurt in the back of his head, and the pain of it was numbed down by the whiskey. As soon as the black blotches slowed down, and he was able to see, he grabbed Anthony, lifted him and threw him against the wall.

Fayth shook her head, trying to scream "No!" over and over again, but the move only did more damage to her, her neck.

Anthony spit air and held his side as he tried to get up.

Kurt glanced over at Fayth. "Well, if it isn't the star of the show. The reason why everything came true." Kurt point at Anthony. "If it weren't for him, I would have never found Lexis, which would have lead me to never finding you either. When I first saw him two years ago, it was as if they were twins born at different times. Had I not discovered that he had an older brother, I would have thought that the boy from ten years ago never grew up."

Kurt advanced on him, but Anthony was quick on his feet and he stood up. Though exhausted, he ran towards Kurt and tackled him, or at least tried.

"You rotten son of a bitch! How dare you lay a finger on her!" Anthony screamed, getting angrier by the second.

Fayth attempted to tip the stool back a little to give her some height, to at least lessen the pain–the suffocation she was feeling.

No. Not Anthony. Please. I'll go through whatever you want. Just leave him alone. He didn't do anything wrong.

Kurt took ahold of Anthony, pushed him away, then punched him as hard as he could. Anthony fell to the concrete flooring, a large chunk of his skin scraping off his arm. He quickly tried to inhale some oxygen as the pain overtook his senses.

Kurt glanced over at Fayth again. "Then you and Lexis stood next to each other, and almost immediately I recognized the scar and the mole you have. It was like a dream come true... literally."

Anthony stood to his feet again. "I'm going to make you sorry." He said while gritting his teeth. His eyes were threatening to tear up, but he held back and pushed away how hurt he was. "I'm going to make you wish you never lived."

Kurt snickered. "All my life, and a kid like you thinks that's close to possible." He shook his head and took ahold of a fretboard wood blank. He pulled it, with one side scraping against the floor as he made his way towards Anthony.

Anthony looked over at Fayth.

Her eyes darted to the door, begging him to leave. To run away. To not get hurt. He wasn't sure if the tears that ran down her face were for him or because of how much pain she was in, but her expression was enough to turn him into a bull.

He stormed towards Kurt again, catching him off guard, and this time tackled him to the ground. As Kurt wiggled under Anthony, Anthony quickly took ahold of a red brick that lay feet away.

Kurt stood to his feet, picking up Anthony with him from under his arm like he weighed ten pounds, and took four leaps towards the concrete wall.

Anthony's body met it the same time he brought the brick towards Kurt's head, this time, to the side of it, right above his ear.

And they both fell to the floor, unconscious.

Fayth began to squeal, whimper, her tears falling harder as she stared mutely at Anthony's motionless body.

No, Anthony. Anthony. Anthony. Anthony. Anthony. Please, no.

The wire around her felt tighter as her cries continued, and she could only feel the wet blood caress her neck as she stared at the only person that mattered right now. Mattered more than her. More than her life.

"Anthony–" She yelled.

Bad move.

The wire dug deeper into her skin, cutting closer into her.

She couldn't even wail. She couldn't greave. She couldn't move. She couldn't scream.

The pain she was in wasn't as close to feeling the torture of having to watch Anthony's unresponsive body.

And she wished that across the heavens and the Earth, for once in her life, things would miraculously turn out in her favor.

Where is your brother? Why isn't he at his doctor's appt?

Lexis read the text message from his father and immediately, his heart dropped. Anthony never missed an appointment. Even if it was to his disadvantage, he always put his visits to the hospital first, before anything.

He quickly pulled up the family tracking app he had recently downloaded on their phones. As the signal from Anthony's began blinking on the map, Lexis' head was swarmed with questions, with worry.

Anthony, answer me. Are you okay? Why didn't you go to your appointment?

Lexis sent the message. He was already making his way to the Academy's garage, prompting the GPS to lead him to Anthony's location. As soon as he was out on the road, he pressed against the gas pedal and drove twice the speed limit.

Anthony, who would usually respond within seconds, was completely unresponsive. Lexis began debating on what his brother could possibly be doing at that address–

And like a switch, he figured it out.

NO.

The warehouse. That was the address of the warehouse. Kurt...

He got to her.

The car jolted forward as Lexis pressed the gas pedal further down.

Anthony....please be okay.

I'm just wondering, does this book feel like a movie to you guys? I try to push for that as I'm writing. I'm hoping it carries through. Sadly I won't be able to tell since I'm the writer, but maybe you guys can share your opinion.
