"Where's Anthony?"

"How's Anthony?"

"Where's Anthony?"

"How come he's not answering his phone?"

"Where's Anthony?"

These were only some of the text messages Fayth had sent Lexis. Throughout the course of the week, as days passed at the hotel, and when she went back to the Academy, Anthony was all she could really think about when she had time to think for herself.

She had only seen Lexis twice, both times at the hotel, and they were to drop something that Jessie needed off. When she attended classes on Thursday and Friday, he wasn't there. She understood that much, knew Anthony needed his brother's company, and therefore Lexis didn't have time for the Academy or the classes, but she missed Anthony, and she had no clue how he was doing.

On Saturday, she was at the Ellis estate, in front of the door, facing Lexis.

"I want to see him, where is he?" She demanded, her face showing how angry she was at being ignored.

Lexis sighed. "He's fine."

"Then why isn't he answering his phone?"

He slipped his hands into his pockets and leaned against the door frame. "He lost it back in the warehouse."

"Couldn't you say that in a response to one of the hundred texts I had sent you."

He shrugged. "If I answered you, you would have stopped texting."

She furrowed her eyebrows at his answer. "What?"

A smile tugged at his lips at her expression. He nodded his head once towards his living room. "He has my phone. He's reading your messages. He doesn't want to answer to see how many times you would ask about him." Even Lexis found his brother's demeanor amusing. "He's kinda of cheeky if you haven't noticed."

Her jaw dropped.

He couldn't hold back and smiled at her expression. "Don't worry. He knows you'll kill him later. He made it clear that it was risk he was willing to take."

"Why can't I see him?"

"He wants to show you that he's 'buff', and wants to make you forget how 'weak he was when you needed him the most'." Lexis' eyes became duller, his smile disappeared. "Its his way of picking himself back up, you should respect it."

She stared at Lexis, her heart falling to pieces.

"He's fighting." He pursed his lips. "For you."

Fayth looked at her shoes, suddenly feeling shallow.

"And I appreciate that. I appreciate that you two have a bond strong enough that he's willing to fight this hard to get back to you–"

"Can't I see him?" She looked back up at Lexis, begging. "I really want to see him."

Lexis sighed and straightened up. "I can't. I swore an oath. You should have seen it, it consisted of spit and blood and..." He shook his head, disgusted at the thought.

"Come on!"

"I'm serious. Do you want to see the contract." He began pulling out his wallet.

Fayth wanted to punch him. She exhaled loudly, turned around and began walking away. Under her breath, she muttered. "I don't know who's more of a cheeky bastard, you or him."

The smile returned to Lexis' face. "Hey."

She kept walking, ignoring him.

"We meant to text you back today."

She slowed down to a halt.

"He gave the okay for tomorrow. He'll see you then. Dawn too. She misses you."

Why is he treating me like this? Is it because of what happened to me? Was it too much for him, to see a person in that much pain? What? he has a soft side for me now too.

She turned around, looked at him, and held back from showing how excited she was. She bit her lip and nodded once. "Okay."

"At Montour Gardens?" He suggested, figuring a park would be an appropriate place for all of them.

She nodded again, suppressing a smile. "That works."

"Alright. We'll see you then."

She began to turn around.

"Oh, and try to sleep tonight. Containing that much excitement won't help." He had a teasing tone, and before she could let him know what he can do with it, he quickly pulled himself into his house and shut the door.
