[NA/N: Finally some action coming next chapter, I was getting bored of writing these chapters.]

Facing the six resolute Paladins before me, I assumed a commanding stance, the weight of responsibility evident in my gaze.

"As you are well aware, our land is currently embroiled in a war that threatens our very existence. Within this tumultuous conflict, three critical junctions have emerged, each demanding our unwavering attention: the fleet assaulting the Telmore forest, the relentless beasts breaching the Wall, and the imminent attack on the Elshire Forest," I stated, my voice firm and resolute.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, the Paladins stood attentively, their eyes focused and ready for the challenges ahead. I continued, addressing each Paladin directly, ensuring clarity in their assigned tasks.

"Alistair and Tessia, I entrust upon you the protection of the Elshire Forest. Your familiarity with the location will be a formidable shield against any threat that may loom within its ancient depths."

Lancelot and Rachel, pillars of strength and valor, stood tall, their eyes burning with determination.

"Your presence in the Telmore Forest is of utmost importance. As seasoned warriors and natural leaders, I have faith that you will command your divisions with honor and unwavering bravery, defending our lands against the encroaching enemy forces."

"To you, Arthur, I entrust the Wall. Rally three other Lances and fortify our defences against the relentless assault of the beasts. Your unwavering commitment to duty shall serve as an example to all who stand beside you."

Lastly, my gaze rested upon Kathyln, I revealed her unique mission, one that required her infiltration skills.

"Kathyln, a secret infiltration mission awaits you in Darv. You shall infiltrate and expose any traitors amidst us."

As I concluded, the weight of the impending battles hung in the air. Each Paladin understood the magnitude of their assigned roles, and the fate of our land rested on their unwavering commitment.

"Remember, these positions are not set in stone. Adaptation and agility will be paramount in the face of ever-changing circumstances. Our collective efforts shall drive back the forces that seek to undo us. Together, we will rise above the challenges that lie before us, for we are the guardians of Dicathen, the defenders of peace, and the embodiment of unwavering courage."

As I stepped into the expansive hall, anticipation filled the air as my division and the three accompanying Lances awaited my arrival. Twenty-five seasoned mages stood before me, their years of experience and unwavering dedication evident in their eyes. The room pulsated with the aura of their solid yellow stage and several even bore the distinguished silver stage status, marking them as formidable assets to our cause.

Lances Varay, Alea, and Mica stood alongside my division, their white stage auras radiating strength and resolve. It was clear that their presence would bolster our forces, ensuring our collective might at the Wall.

Taking a moment to absorb the gravity of the situation, I understood the weight of responsibility bestowed upon me. My assignment to the Wall held a twofold purpose: strategic planning to safeguard our defenses and the disposal of any Scythe infiltrators who dared to venture within our territory.

Addressing the assembled mages and Lances, I stood tall, projecting confidence and power.

"My esteemed fellow mages and revered Lances, gathered here today at the forefront of our defense, the mighty Wall, I, Paladin Arthur Leywin, stand as your Captain, accompanied by my formidable dragonic bond, Sylvie, who serves as our Vice Captain. In this critical hour, it is with great honor and confidence that I address each of you, recognizing the immense power and unwavering loyalty you bring to our noble cause. It is through our collective efforts that we shall fortify our position, safeguarding the safety and well-being of our cherished land and its beloved inhabitants.

The room buzzed with a mixture of anticipation and resolve, the mages and Lances exchanging nods and glances, ready to face the imminent challenges that lay ahead.

We embarked on our journey, utilizing the remarkable underground train system meticulously designed by Gary and Gideon during my training in Epheotus. While the system carried an inherent risk of discovery and destruction by our adversaries, its efficiency and swiftness made it an invaluable asset for traversing long distances.

The trains, though different from those found on Earth, possessed a functional and utilitarian design rather than focusing on aesthetics and comfort. Lance Varay, known for his stoic demeanor, displayed a flicker of surprise mirrored by others as they took in the unique features of the train before settling into their respective seats.

Controlling the trains involved injecting aether, a precautionary measure to safeguard against potential sabotage by our enemies. I placed my hand upon the cube-shaped device, infused with the power of the Realmheart, channeling the energy within me.

A surge of power emanated as I directed vibrant purple motes of aether towards the train, causing the entire machine to illuminate in response. The aether, rather than directly fueling the train, acted as the catalyst for the steam engine that propelled the vehicle forward.

The rhythmic chugging of the train's engine filled the carriage, accompanied by the soft hiss of steam as we glided through the underground tunnels, seamlessly crossing vast distances in a fraction of the time it would take through conventional means.

Lost in my own contemplations, I sat silently as Sylvie, now in her human form, slumbered peacefully with her head nestled on my lap. It was an unorthodox sight, considering her role as Vice Captain, but in this moment, I allowed her this respite.

During our time in Epheotus, Sylvie had undergone a profound transformation, realizing her true nature as an Asura and embracing the inherent qualities that came with it. As a result, she no longer referred to me as "Papa," a change I found myself oddly accepting. This shift allowed me to compartmentalize our relationship, recognizing the necessity of treating her as a valuable tool and formidable weapon, rather than solely as my beloved daughter.

These adjustments, though necessary, didn't entirely ease the burden on my heart. However, they offered a semblance of detachment, shielding me from the piercing pain that came with making tough decisions that may put her in harm's way.

Before long, our journey reached its destination, and I gently roused Sylvie from her slumber, preparing ourselves to face the challenges that awaited us.

As we disembarked from the train, a welcoming committee awaited our arrival. Three figures, their heads bowed in deference, greeted us with utmost respect.

"Paladin Arthur, Lances Varay, Mica, and Alea," they addressed us respectfully.

I couldn't help but notice the skepticism and doubt reflected in the eyes of the soldiers surrounding us. Although their spirits lifted at the sight of the esteemed Lances and my capable division, they seemed unconvinced of my own abilities, given my youthful appearance. It was evident that entrusting the defense of their fortress to a young boy like me did little to instill confidence in their hearts.

I took a steadying breath, summoning the power within my white core. Mana surged through my veins, causing a ripple of energy that resonated with the air around me. The crowd gasped collectively as the weight of my aura pressed down on them, even though I exerted considerable restraint.

"While it may seem unnecessary for me to be present in this fortress, my sole purpose is to expedite our victory while minimizing casualties among our ranks," I declared, my head held high.

A wave of awe and admiration swept through the crowd, erupting into cheers and shouts of approval. Emboldened, I proceeded confidently towards the trio who awaited me.

"State your name and position," I commanded, continuing my stride towards the stairs.

"Captain Albanth Kelris of the Bulwark Division," he replied, hastening to keep pace beside me.

"Very well, Captain Albanth Kelris. Let us delve into our strategic discussions," I declared indifferently.

"Aya, it's wonderful to see you here," I greeted her warmly, a smile forming on my lips as I locked eyes with the familiar Lance. She reciprocated with a bright smile of her own, her enthusiasm evident in her every movement as she hurried over to embrace me.

Her arms encircled me, her head resting against my chest as she held me in her embrace. I couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and familiarity in her presence.

However, Tessia, standing nearby, cleared her throat in a slightly disapproving manner, her expression tinged with a hint of jealousy. Aya sensed the shift in the atmosphere and released me from her embrace, yielding to Tessia's unspoken request.

"Seems like the princess is worried her prince might wander off," Aya teased playfully, accompanied by a mischievous wink. The remark caused Tessia's fair complexion to flush a deep shade of crimson, clearly flustered and irked by Aya's words.

Aya's voice, infused with her mastery of sound magic, sent a tingling sensation down my spine. I instinctively tapped into my own well of mana, counteracting the effects of her enchanting tone. It was a necessary precaution, especially given my current age. I couldn't afford to be swayed by her alluring charms as easily as before.

Her seductive aura seemed more exposed and palpable to me now, and I recognized the potential danger it posed. With heightened awareness, I maintained my focus, ensuring that I remained clear-headed in her presence.

"Now, are the two of you prepared to face the Vritras in battle?" Aya's tone shifted to a serious one, her gaze focused and determined. "I understand that both of you possess great strength, far surpassing my own, but remember, even the mightiest warriors can fall in the midst of war."

Tessia and I exchanged nods, fully aware of the gravity of the situation and the importance of our roles in securing victory for Dicathen. We were ready to channel all our abilities and fight with unwavering resolve.

"We won't underestimate the enemy," I affirmed, my voice filled with determination. "We will give our all to ensure the success of our mission and protect our people."

Tessia's eyes gleamed with unwavering determination as well. "Together, we'll face whatever challenges come our way and emerge triumphant. Dicathen's victory is our goal, and we won't waver in our commitment."

Aya nodded approvingly, a sense of camaraderie evident in her eyes. "I have faith in both of you. Let's go, and may our actions on the battlefield lead us to a brighter future for Dicathen."

With a shared sense of purpose, we set off, ready to face the daunting trials of war, united in our will to defend our homeland and emerge victorious against the Vritras.

|Kathyln|

Our feet touched down on the barren land just beyond the border, marking our entry into the Kingdom of Darv. The once moist soil of the surrounding forest had transformed into a desolate landscape, hardened and cracked under the scorching sun. As far as the eye could see, varying shades of brown and yellow dominated the scenery. The absence of visible roads this far out toward the coast indicated the remoteness of this region, far from the bustling trade routes between dwarves and humans.

Accompanied by Professor Fejalk, the Vice Captain of my divison, we stood in silence, taking in the desolation before us. Broken branches and withered shrubs scattered by the relentless wind were the only remnants of vegetation, clinging to life amidst the harsh conditions. I scanned the area, my eyes noting the strategically positioned large boulders that could provide us cover or concealment if needed. Thus far, however, there were no signs of any recent activity.

The rugged terrain stretched out, forming jagged plains that dipped and rose, creating deep ravines. From my extensive readings and the knowledge imparted by Gary, I was aware that many of these gullies and ravines concealed hidden entrances to the underground cities where the dwarves resided.

As we took our first steps forward, a sense of anticipation and caution enveloped me. This was the moment to uncover the truth about the alleged betrayal by the dwarves, an unsettling possibility that hung over us.

"Let us unravel the truth behind these suspicions," I murmured under my breath, determination driving my words. With that, we embarked on our investigation, ready to navigate the treacherous terrain and uncover the secrets that lay hidden within the Kingdom of Darv.
