Garp x Marine Reader

You were just walking around Marine headquarters just doing your usual routine.

Train.

Eat.

Help with anything the higher ups need.

Then sleep.

Sometimes you would help bring people their coffees in the morning to help warm yourself up before training.

Today was no different.

Some of the Vice Admirals were in the same base as you so you went ahead to bring them their usual coffees and teas.

The day was going fine so far.

You hadn't messed up, not that you do anyways.

All you needed was to deliver 3 more cups and that was it.

But luckily for you, they were all in the same room.

You- "Here are your coffees and teas Vice Admirals."

"Thank you (Y/N), you are dismissed."

You- "Yes sir."

You saluted and then made your way out of the room.

You started to feel like someone was starting at you as you left, but you usually brushed off that feeling.

But this one felt different.

You couldn't really put your finger on it, but either way you had to go to the training ground before it got late.

"Put your backs into it! No slacking!! Here in the marines we fight with honor and justice!!"

The commanding officer had us all run laps until we all dropped.

The training was exhausting but you all made it.

Well most of us.

"Go take a lunch break, we will meet back here in an hour!"

Once you got your lunch, you went to go sit in your usual corner.

You were about to start eating until a hand slammed down in front of you, making you flinch.

"Hey I know you! You gave me my tea earlier! (Y/N) was it?"

You- "Huh?"

You looked up and saw Vice Admiral Garp.

You then remembered that he was in the room when you delivered the last 3 cups.

He was almost unrecognizable when he doesn't say anything.

You- "O-Oh, yeah, I'm glad to see you remembered my name Vice Admir-"

Garp- "Just call me Garp! No one will get mad at you, you know?"

Geez he is so loud.

You- "Oh but...you are my superior so I have to-."

Garp- "Hey if I say you can call me Garp, then just call me Garp."

You sighed.

You- "If you say so, Garp.."

He let out a satisfied hum.

Garp- "My name kind of sounds nice when you say it."

You- "H-huh?"

Garp- "What?"

You were confused for a bit but decided to just brush it off.

You were about to eat but then you noticed that Garp was getting closer and closer.

Garp- "Aren't you going to eat?"

You- "Oh, I would but-"

Garp- "You don't like it? Are you vegetarian? Did someone tamper with it?!"

You- "Oh n-no, its just that-"

Garp- "Then what is it??"

You- "I just don't like to eat when people are so close to me while I eat.."

Garp then realized that he was indeed too close to you and went to go sit across from you.

Garp- "Oh! I'm sorry (Y/N)."

You- "I-its fine Garp."

You took your water and brought it up to drink it before Garp spoke up.

Garp- "I just can't resist a little cutie like you."

You nearly choked on your water.

Garp- "What? What did I say?"

You- "Garp..You can't just say things like that and expect me to give in."

Garp- "Why not?"

You- "Because! I am a Marine in training and YOU are a Vice Admiral."

Garp- "So?"

You- "SO?! I have to respect you and you have to respect me."

Garp- "Respect is earned, not given (Y/N)."

You- "Okay so..what can I do for you to treat me like a marine rather than....whatever you see me as right now?"

Garp thought for a second before he got up and left.

You looked as he left the cafeteria.

You- "Well, I guess I can finally eat my lunch in peace."

After your lunch was over, you and a few other marines were on your way back to the training ground.

You were about to stand in your spot until you suddenly felt an arm swing around you, causing you to flinch.

Garp- "Oi (Y/N)! Good news!!"

You were still recovering from your mini heart attack to even answer him.

Garp- "I talked to your commanding officer and you're going to be training with ME from here on out!" 

You- "And how is this good news?"

Garp- "Because now you'll get to spend more time with ME!"

You had to admit, being trained by Garp isn't such a bad idea.

But he still called you a cutie..

You- "So what now?"

Garp- "FIRST! We're going to my quarters for some tea and rice crackers!"

You- "How is that going to improve my training as a marine?"

Garp- "It will, by increasing your appetite on rice crackers!"

You- "But I've never had a rice cracker before."

Garp- "Oh then you are in for a treat my dear."
