 I had two entries that placed - Bound was a 3rd place winner in general fiction, and "Unsuitable was 1st place winner in science fiction

For me, winning the creativity awards was a big accomplishment. As writers we often questions ourselves and the quality of our work. To win this contest brings me hope that I'm on the right track and others might enjoy the stories I pour out of my head and soul into. It provides me with encouragement to keep moving forward, even in those times when I doubt myself.

1 What's the best advice you could provide a newcomer with?
The  best advice I can give a newcomer is not to be too hard on yourself. Sure, it can be discouraging when you feel your work isn't good enough, but we've all been there. The best way to get through it is to keep writing. Practice makes perfect and the more you work to hone your craft, the better you'll be as a writer.

2 What's one wattpad goal?

My short term wattpad goal is to gain more reads and follow. But thinking long term, I'd love to become more involved with the platform as an ambassador or part of the Wattpad Stars program.

3 How would you celebrate a publishing deal?

I would celebrate a publishing deal with my husband and family. They are my biggest supporters and I would have never had the courage to pursue my goal of being an author without them.

4 Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follower or comment?

Each and every time. Every new follow, vote and comment gives me that small boost of confidence to keep reaching for my goals. I love that Wattpad makes us a community in this way. It's very humbling to see others enjoy the story you've worked so hard to create.

5 What inspired you to write?

My husband inspired me to write. I've been a huge book nerd for as long as I can remember. One day, my husband suggested I try my hand at creating a book since I enjoy reading so much. I"ve been in love with writing ever since.

6 What's a song you enjoy? Who is the artist?

My taste in music changes day to day, but I'm really into Taylor Swift right now. I enjoy her most recent single. (You Need to Calm Down) to kick off Pride Month.

7 What's your favorite holiday and why?

I love Thanksgiving. I enjoy the food and atmosphere, and just spending time with the people you love without the expectation of gifts.

8 What's the best way to handle a bully?

The best way to handle a bully is to take the high ground. I'm a big believer in karma. It may not be today or tomorrow, but eventually their behavior will catch up to them. Don't stoop to their level. Just let the universe do its thing.

9 What's your favorite movie?

The adult in me would say is "The Notebook" because I love a good chick flick. But my inner child is obsessed with "Moana".

10 What's your favorite thing about Wattpad?

My favorite thing about Wattpad is that its free way to get feedback form other artists and become a member of a community that supports each other to continue writing. 

11 What's your favorite book?

"Harry Potter" will always be my favorite book (series) JK Rowling has an amazing mind that leaves us finding new, hidden info even 30 years later. I'm also a huge "Hunger Games and Divergent" fan. I love when authors can build an entirely new world and make you feel like you're a part of it.
