Winner of: 2nd place in poetry

Winner from: The possibly awards

When I found out I came second place under poetry in the Possibility Awards, I was shocked but at the same time delighted. When I submitted my poetry collection, I just figured I'd do it, because if I didn't, I'd have no chance if winning. Honestly, I never expected to come as far as I did. It means the world to me that I came second, not because I won something but because my poems were obviously relatable pieces to the readers. That is such a great feeling.

1 What inspired you to write?

I've loved reading and writing from a very early age and writing was something I've done for a long time. I guess I could say that writing, much like reading, is a very therapeutic form of escapism for me and that's why I do it. Also, I remember reading books by wonderful authors as a child and wanting to be like them, in having stories that I write published.

2 What is your favorite book?

I have two that automatically spring to mind, and I can't seem to choose one over the other, seen as they are so special in different ways. They are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver.

3 What's the best thing about Wattpad?

Connecting with other writers from all over the world, and learning from each other.

4 What's one wattpad goal?

For my books to be discovered by a few more readers.

5 How would you advise a wattpad newbie?

Make connections. Follow other writers and avid readers. Put in requests for people to read your books. But read and comment on theirs too. Networking is the key to getting your book out there on the platform.

6 What's your favorite movie?

Donnie Darko.

7 How would you celebrate a publishing deal?

I would simply go to the cinema with a few friends, buy VIP seats and go to town with nachos, drinks and anything other food there is to buy in the cinema.

8 What's your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas. Warm fires, good food, surrounded with family and friends. What more could you want?

9 If you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?

I'd choose Ed Sheeran. And I don't really know what I'd do. Probably just wander around town.

10 If you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you do?

I'd choose JK Rowling. I'd ask her to advise me on how to stay motivated in writing while constantly being rejected by publishing houses.

11 What's the best way to handle a bully?

For me, the answer is simple. Stand up to them. I really don't agree when people say ignoring them and giving them no reaction will make them stop. It actually gives them more power, because they feel that they can pick on you and you won't say anything to stop them.

What I'd do, and have done in the past, is, every now and again, put them back in their place. Let them know you're not one to be pushed around. If they say something nasty to you, throw a smart comeback at them to quieten them down. But, when you're standing up to them, try not to appear hurt or emotional, otherwise they'll know they're succeeding. Always respond in a calm and collected manner.

Providence- my latest story. A lot of people like romance, and tear jerkers, it's a combination of the two. Two very different lead characters who are both quite likeable. Check it out!
