Winter Rose Awards - 1st place Science Fiction with Fyr's Touch (my second book is in the Paranormal category, and I'm still waiting to see where it places) 

The Winter Rose Awards do a very thorough job in judging the books we enter, so it means a lot for my work to be recognized. It motivates me to continue writing, especially in this genre. I mostly write paranormal romance, and Fyr's Touch was an experiment that I've loved writing!

1 what's a song you enjoy? Who is the artist? 

I have very eclectic taste, but at the moment, the Tree of Life suite by Roberto Cacciapaglia is on repeat.

2 are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment? 

Yes! I've only joined Wattpad in November last year, and I've been slowly building a group of supportive friends and writers around me. Getting votes and comments from them is amazing. I get even more of a glow from readers who seem to have randomly found my book and binge through it in a matter of days. Such a fantastic feeling!

3 who is your favorite author? 

Another impossible question ;-) It really depends, but Terry Pratchett is one of my all-time favourites. I keep rereading the Discworld Series. The worldbuilding and the humour are perfect.

4 what's your favorite holiday and why? 

The introvert in me is coming out here, with one of my two favourite holidays a solo get-away in nature for a few days, to recharge and write and just breathe. The other favourite holiday is one where I have the opportunity to discover a new culture. I went to Sri Lanka on group travel last August and it was incredible.

5 how would you spend a rainy day?

Read. Write. Play a game with the kids. Pretend I'm not watching cartoons with them XD 

 6 what's your favorite snack? 

Chocolate! I'm Belgian, and there is no greater pleasure than a piece of Belgian chocolate melting in my mouth. Mhm, I may need to go raid the cupboard now.

7 what's your schedule regarding your writing?

I write any chance I get. I squeeze in time to write during the day, and I write every single night when the kids are in bed. I even write while I'm waiting for the kids at the swimming pool or dance class. Since I have Scrivener on my phone as well as on my computer, I get to sync stuff easily and it's so easy!

 8 what's your dream vacation?

Mhm, I'll switch it up from question 4 and talk about my country wishlist. Again, too many to choose from, but I want to discover Thailand's nature next, as well as Costa Rica and Mount Roraima (featured in one of my books). Italy is an all-time favourite.

 9 what's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?

Newcomers to writing: it doesn't matter what you write, just write as much and often as you can. Practice does make perfect, and it's much easier to get in the flow when you have a habit of writing often.Newcomers to Wattpad: find a group of supportive writers and readers, and flourish. Be a supportive reader in return. And for heaven's sake, be nice ;-)

 10 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do? 

I'm not much of a celeb person, so I'd probably go for another one of my favourite writers: Gail Carriger. She seems so witty, and I love her writing. I'd spend all day drinking tea (she seems pretty addicted to it) and talking about writing and books.

11 how would you celebrate a publishing deal?

By taking a walk in nature and then screaming with joy, so loud I'll scare the birds. Then I'll get home and write more, using all of that pent up joy and motivation to create the best story ever.

I'd recommend Demon Domination, the paranormal romance I started with on Wattpad. It's a fast-paced story about ancient demons (you guessed it), featuring a strong and sassy female demon as well as a male counterpart who has converted people who don't like the genre. I'm considering creating a fan club for my demon (Team Torag ftw).
