★Contest & Placement?

Dear Boo won first place in Non-Fiction in The Happiness Awards, ran by @TheHappyWriters

Not Like The Rest won first place in the Bookiestars Awards, ran by @BookieStars

Each time I win first, second, or third place in any awards it helps to boost my confidence in my writing. Knowing a judge thought something written by me was awesome enough to place is exciting. It also makes me hopeful that new readers may possibly read my novel or journal.

1 What inspired you to write?

I have always been a daydreamer, I like to think of creative situations at random times. One night my husband @piggy86 gave me my confidence boost to finally turn my thoughts into words. I've not looked back since.

2 What is your favorite book?

Goodness, such a hard question! Like most people on here, I love to read, excessively. My favorite books are "Native Son" by Richard Wright, "Roots" by Alex Haley, and "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë. Those three are classic novels that I absolutely love.

3 What's a song you enjoy? Who is the artist?

It's between "Vermillion Part Two", or "Snuff" by Slipknot! These two songs have such a deep message that I relate to.

4 What is your favorite thing about Wattpad? Easy, the people! I have met strangers who turned into friends, and some who turned into family. I love how laid-back and caring most people are on here.

5 What's one Wattpad goal?

To be featured on Wattpad.

6 Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow, or comment?

Definitely! I speak to most of my followers in some form, and appreciate every vote and comment more than anyone knows.

7 What's your schedule regarding your writing?

Normally, once a week for my novel. However, writer's block has been so bad the past month. As for my advice journal, I update when I receive letters from people.

8 What's a good piece of advice for newcomers?

Be friendly with your followers, reach out to other author's, and be yourself!

9 What's your favorite holiday, and why?

Thanksgiving. I love my family, so any excuse to have my family around me is wonderful. Plus, good homemade food always brings my family together.

10 What's your favorite snack

Anything sour and fruit. In the summertime, I eat a lot of fruit

11 How would you celebrate a publishing deal

I'd celebrate with my kids, husband, and close family members.

Request Time!

Even though my novel is important to me I hold my advice journal, Dear Boo, closer to my heart than anything. Dear Boo is where I give people advice on any topic possible, there is no limit. It can be fun and flirty, or dark and heavy. When someone needs great advice and anonymity, they come to me. I've given numerous people advice and knowing I helped them in any small way simply warms my heart. Some of the topics have trigger warnings, which are listed at the top of the letters.
