Kaiden..

Cesar walked back to his house. It had been a while since he had seen someone new..But this person was..A little different.

Cesar felt obligated to get dirt on him. Something to use against him and manipulate him with.

He recognized that face. He had been hunting vampires since he was a kid..He had to have..Killed..

No, but that couldn't be..

But, there was always a possibility..Vampire hunters could be..Cruel.

After a little, Kaiden and Mark went inside Sarah's house. And put their things away.

They went to go sit on the couch, Mark decided to make some hot chocolate for the three of them.

"So, what's it like living in France, huh?" Sarah asked.

"Ehhh, it's pretty nice. Every since I stopped hunting vampires I've just been laying low..I don't really have the time and energy for that anymore."

"Pfft, I knew it was tiring you. I'm just glad that your actually doing alright, y'know?"

"Yeah..I mean, it could've been way worse."

They laughed as they spoke, and Mark came back with the hot chocolate.

"Here you go!"

They both thanked him, holding onto their mugs.

Kaiden missed moments they had like these..He cared about all of them, and he was just glad that they could have a nice conversation.

They spent the entire day together, going out to eat and visiting Adam and Jonah, who still seemed a little distant. Which was..Weird. But, night eventually came through and they were all heading back home.

When Sarah and Mark went inside, Kaiden heard a voice call him.

"Kaiden! Over here!"

"..Oh! Hold on, I'll be right back."

It was Cesar, or, as Kaiden knew; the person from earlier.

He ran over to him and waved.

"Hey! What're you doing out so late..?"

"I was just taking a walk! Wanna come with?"

Kaiden was confused, but shrugged and agreed.

"Eh, why not."

Cesar and Kaiden began to walk down the street, making small conversation.

Until Cesar eventually got to the topic.

"So, I heard you use to hunt vampires, right?"

"Huh? Oh! Yeah, I use to a really long time ago. I don't really do it anymore."

"Really? What kind?"

"Well, I always tried to hunt down the ones who had a massive influence, an-"

"No, I mean what age?"

"..Oh. I mean..I never..Learned.."

Kaiden got uncomfortable.

"I mean did you hunt the adult oneessss..The teens..Kids?"

That just seemed to crack something in Kaiden. He pulled on his sleeves.

"I-..Don't..Remember."

"Really?"

"I mean..Yeah but—..I guess I use to..Hunt smaller ones.."

This was what Cesar wanted, he smiled though acted surprised.

"Smaller ones?.."

Kaiden looked off, holding onto his arms.

"..I-.."

He went nearly silent. His breath was stuck in his throat.

They were just kids. That's all they were..What was I thinking..?

"I don't want to talk about this anymore."

"But why? Are you guilty?"

"Cesar- Just— Quit it! I don't wanna talk this anymore!"

He snapped, which surprised Cesar a little.

"Fine, fine. Maybe we can talk another time since you seem agitated."

"Alright, thanks."

He answered quickly, walking away.

That was such a failure.
