Uncomfortably Numb.

The funeral day came up..Dave went, but could barely keep his composure. He eventually left early, driving away.

Getting home..There was a sick sense of loneliness. It was so quiet. Nobody came up to comfort him, hug him or anything.

He felt tired, and his eyes were puffy and stung from crying. So, he went to his room,

He fell onto his bed, huffing.

He heard the door unlock, must be Thatcher.

He just stayed in bed. Not moving, rarely checking the time.

"Dave? You in?"

"Mmmhmm."

Thatcher sat on Dave's bed, trying not to take up much space.

"You doing alright?"

"I'm doing fine."

The atmosphere was thick.

"Hey, Dave-..Y'know it isn't your fault-"

"Can you just-..Stop? I need time to myself."

"Take as much time as you need. I get if you don't wanna talk to me."

Thatcher heard quiet sobs, but he didn't want to interrupt so quickly.

"It's just-..I don't know what to do anymore. I'm..So tired."

"Mhm?"

"And I'm just-..Scared to tell anyone how I'm feeling!..I don't even know what I'm feeling."

"Yeah.."

"And I just..- Don't know how to feel."

Thatcher sighed, looking over at Dave. Still huddled in his blankets. Laying completely still.

"F-Fuck, Thatch-..I just..Can't believe I lost him so quickly."

Thatcher got a little more comfortable, laying back.

"Do you wanna watch a movie?"

"..I-I mean-..Yeah."

"Alright."

Thatcher turned on the tv.

"What do you wanna watch, Dave?"

"It's up to you."

"Alright, then."

Thatcher put on a movie..After a while, Dave sat up to watch it. The blonde noticed and smiled.

They watched the movie together, occasionally laughing. Thatcher loved seeing Daves smile. Especially in such mood he's been in for the past couple days. He's rarely coming out of his house..They all missed him, and Mark and Sarah were worried about him. And it made Thatcher feel insanely guilty.

The movie eventually ended.

"That was a nice movie..I liked it, at least."

"I'm glad you did! I just wanted to see you out of bed, y'know?"

"..Pfft."

Dave chuckled, Thatcher was confused on why.

"You're so corny, dude."

Thatcher realized and smiled, they laughed along with each other.

"But, seriously. Dave, I miss you. We all do, I haven't seen you enjoy yourself in days."

"Trust me, Thatcher I'm okay."

"You sure?"

"Of course."
