{next day, Wensday, school}
-Eddie POV-
" Eddie!" Ariel squealed as she ran up to me, I was making my way to the cafeteria, I was going to pick her up from her class, but she said she was walking with Chrissy.
" Hey, sweetheart." I said to her, " Eddie! I'm so excited!"
"Cheer tryouts are today!"
" Cheer tryouts are today!"
I said in sync with her, she's been saying the same thing to me after every class period.
Ariel then giggled and grabbed onto my arm as we walked into the busy hallway by the cafeteria.
" Ed, coach posted the results today," She started, " Did you make it?" I asked her, " I don't know. I'm too nervous to check. Can you check for me?" She asked as her plain just gorgeous, blue eyes looked into mine.
" Sure, come on." I told her as began to walk up to the doors. Her delicate hands grabbing my arm and wrist.
She buried her head into my shoulder, " Eddie, is my name up there?" She asked, I felt excited for her as I read her name under the, ' Varsity' section.
" You gotta look." I told her, and opened her eyes, " But you said-" she interrupted her self with a gasp, and then a loud squeal, causing the few people left in the hallway to look over at us.
"Eddie! Eddie I made it! I made it, again!" She yelled loudly, I grabbed her and kissed her.
" I'm so proud of you!" I told her, " You are?" She asked, looking deeply into my eyes, like she's never been told that in her life. " Of course I'm proud of you!" I told her before I brought her into a hug, making sure that nobody saw.
" I'm gonna go tell everyone!" She said as she led me into the cafeteria and ran to the table Chrissy was sat at.
"So, Harrington made varsity volleyball?" Jeff asked, " You really need to ask?" I say, realizing she was running back up to the table where her, now our freshman friends sat.
"Lucas, Dustin! Wheeler! I made it!" She said to them, " Didn't she make it last year?" Gareth asked, " Just let her be happy for a minute. I love seeing her like that, sh-"
" Alright Munson." Gareth stopped me before I got carried away. " What's going on?" Jess said, walking over.
" Ariel made the volleyball team. If you couldn't tell from her squealing." Gareth then said sarcastically.
" Eddie!" Ariel then hugged me from behind, leaning down to reach me as I sat under her.
"I'm so proud of you! Sit down so you can eat." I told her. " I told Chrissy I sit with her," Ariel started, leaning the side of her head against mine, her arms still wrapped around my shoulders.
Then Jess sat down beside me. " Is it your first year playing?" Jess asked, Ariel looked over at Jess, " Actually Eds, I'll sit with you." She said, slight jealousy in her voice. She pulled a chair from the other table and sat beside me, moving her chair in between Jess and I, scooting it so close that we were almost sharing one.
" I'm so excited for cheer tryouts, you're still coming, right?" She asked me, "Eddie your coming to tryouts?" Jess asked, " Uh-yeah why?"
" Oh, I'm trying out too." She said, Ariel rolled her eyes and turned back to me.
" You know, I've been working on my back handspring, I can do 5 in a row." She told me, she suddenly started to get louder. I found myself chuckling at her jealousy,
" That's nice, Ariel. Maybe you should eat?" I suggested, considering she hasn't had lunch.
"Do you have anything?" She asked, I shook my head, "Ariel, I have a granola bar?" Dustin suggested.
" See Eddie, that's why I love Dustin, because he's a real friend. You're not." She jokes as she takes the granola bar from him. She opens and begins to eat it and my eyes trail off from her.
I looked behind her to Jess, " So, yo-" Ariel then leaned closer to me, " Do you want some?" She asked, " No... thank you." I told her.
She scoffed under her breath, before starting to fix her shirt and hair. At first I thought it was funny that she jealous. Hilarious. Doesn't she know how I feel at all? and we're not even together. But not it's starting to become a little childish.
-Ariella POV, after school at tryouts-
I walked in leading Eddie with me, Chrissy said that Jason was coming and also that Andy was coming, so I can't get in trouble.
We walked in to see Jess and a few other girls that were waiting to begin, but not everyone was here yet.
" I'm so nervous," Jess said to Eddie as we walked towards the bleachers they were sitting on.
" Don't be. I'm sure you'll do great." He assured and I pulled his hand that I was holding towards me. He then looked over, "Sorry, did you say something?" I just ignore him, knowing her wasn't paying any real attention to me anyway.
I have a guy that I actually really like and someone has to ruin for me.
" I can't believe that one girl is here, that's trying to date Eddie." Chrissy said to me, " I know, she's so-!" I cut myself off with a dramatic groan, hating the fact that she was here.
" Chris, is everyone here?" I asked, as I noticed that more people showed up. " Yeah, seems like it."
" Okay! Let's get started." I shouted, all of the girls got positioned into windows, as Chrissy and I got in front to lead, we began to preform the dance before we began teaching it.
-Eddie POV-
I watched as Ariel preformed a dance and then began to teach it to the other girls.
Man, she looked good, so damn good.
After about and hour they were done teaching the dances and going over jumps. " Tomorrow we will pick up on who knows stunting and we'll teach a few cheers."
" I feel like I did bad." Jess said to me, " I think you did good! You followed the dance perfectly f-" I told Jess before Ariel came over and quickly hugged me, "Ed, I need to talk to you when we get out. Are you still driving me home?" Ariel asked, pulling away.
" Of course, why wouldn't I?" She tilted her head toward Jess and I was unsure what she meant.
" Well, can we leave now? I haven't told Steve that I made it yet, hopefully Dustin could keep his mouth shut. But I really want you to stay—-!" Ariel whined, her hands guiding me to stand up, and lead me away, I hadn't realized she was specifically leading me away from Jess until I realized we going were nowhere near the door.
I thought she was smart before, but that girl is really smart. She completely led me away without me even realizing it. The way she innocently looked into my eyes, catching my gaze, knowing that I couldn't look away. Her hands guiding me to walk away, my body fell numb under her touch, she intoxicates me.
"Let's go, Eddie." She said to me after grabbing her bags.
" What did you want to ask me?" I questioned as we walked out onto the car park. " So, Jess sits by you at lunch? " She asked, " Yeah, all of HellFire sits there-"
" Oh so she's part of your club?" She said, her voice basically a mumble. "If I wanted to join would you let me?" She asked, jealousy toned in her voice.
" Eddie, are you coming to tryouts tomorrow?"
