"Hey, you ready?" Katalina asked as I fixed on my earrings. "Yeah, I'm not sure if I look okay," I muttered as I adjusted my jacket.
Along with the anxiety that came over these last few months, so did the weight gain.
Nothing fits me anymore.
"It's fine. You look great," She complimented as I tugged on my puffer jacket. I adjusted my tight-fitted dress before grabbing my purse and walking out of my room. Everyone else was dressed in similar attire: dressed-up casual.
"Are we finally ready?" Khloe asked as I descended down the main steps. "Let's go," I sighed as I walked to the door and grabbed my car keys. I walked outside and approached my car.
A small group of kids were awkwardly standing near it and I unlocked the door and put my purse inside before shutting it and approaching them.
"You guys okay?" I asked and they all grinned at me and I smiled. "What trick do you guys wanna see today?" I asked and they all started yelling various things.
"Okay, I can only do a few since I'm going out with my friends," I said gesturing to them standing at the front of the house, watching me.

"Why isn't she like this all the time?" I asked as we watched Athena entertain the group of kids. "She's going through a thing. We always let her have her space," Khloe mumbled and I sighed as we watched them.
They all eventually left, except for one girl who whispered something in her ear. She smiled, but it was more of a painful one. The girl gave her a hug and her small arms hooked around Athena's neck and she hugged her back.
I looked over at Chase and he was watching her too.
She waved goodbye and ran off with her friends and Athena stood up from her crouching position and paused when she saw all of us watching her. "So who's with me?" She asked and Katalina walked towards her car.
"They'll come with us," Ricky said as he gestured to Chase and me. Athena nodded as she climbed into her car. Kat got in too and shut the door and we went to Ricky's car and climbed in.
Athena's car swerved around ours and sped down the street as I leaned against Chase's chest. "So what is she like on a day-to-day basis?" I asked and Khloe looked at Ricky before turning to face me.
"Harl, I know what you're doing and for everyone's sake, it's best if you don't go there," Khloe advised and I shook my head.
"No. We are all still friends. Senior year is about to start and I don't want this to be a problem," I argued and Khloe sighed.
"You can't force it to all be okay. You guys left, and neither of you moved to sort out what happened. She's suppressing how she feels because you guys are back. For now," Khloe explained and I looked down at my hands.
"For now?" Chase repeated and I looked in the rearview mirror and Khloe rolled her eyes dramatically.
"We're all leaving again. For college," She repeated slowly.
When we were in California, they taught me how to suppress other people's emotions. I can turn it on and off now.
I don't have to hear what people are thinking.
The drive was short and Athena already got our table and they seated us when we arrived.
Dinner was fun. We talked and laughed. People came to our table to greet "Wervieme's very own heroes" and it was fun meeting the younger generation that looked up to us so much.
"Guysss?" Khloe called and she waved a little flask around and I immediately stretched out my hand.
"Gimme," I called and she handed it to me. Chase and Ricky passed it around and Kat poured like half of it in her drink. Athena turned it down and Khloe poured it into her drink anyway.
"What the hell?" Athena said as she looked down at her newly full glass and Khloe shrugged. "You need it!" Khloe said over the music and Athena rolled her eyes as she finished the entire drink in one sip.
The music got louder and people started crowding on the dance floor. "Let's go!" Khloe called and she practically dragged Athena off her seat and they went dancing. "Come on," I said to Kat and she got up and joined us.
We spent the night dancing and Athena finished the rest of the flask for herself.
"Okay, we gotta go. We have debrief tomorrow morning," Chase said in my ear and I turned around and kissed him. He responded by hooking his arms around my waist and I shook my head as I moved my lips away from his.
"You haven't danced with me yet," I whined and he laughed at my immaturity. "We'll come back here again. You and me," He promised and I gave in and we all headed out.
"Wait where's Athena?" Khloe asked as she swayed slightly but Ricky held her steady. She stumbled out of the entrance and steadied herself as she walked towards us.
"Well you got me drunk and now I can't drive," Athena said as she pointed at Khloe, who giggled. Katalina was practically passed out whilst leaning against Athena's car.
Athena unlocked her car and Kat tumbled into the backseat and Athena shut the door behind her. "I'll drop her," Chase suggested and Athena ignored him and gave her car keys to me.
"I've been drinking too hon," I reminded her and she nodded her head slowly before giving it to Khloe. "Girl, I'm the one who gave you the flask," Khloe snorted and Athena laughed too.
She handed it to Ricky who turned her around and pushed her in Chase's direction but she swerved him and walked to the bouncer.
"Can you drop us home?" She asked him as she stretched out her hand with the keys in her hand. He smiled at her and she gave him a playful grin, which turned into a frown when Chase snatched the keys from her hand.
"Give me back my keys!" She whined as she reached for them and he held her by both wrists so she could stop moving around.
"Stop playing around Athena. I'm taking you home," He said harshly and let go of her as he unlocked the car and climbed into the driver's seat. Khloe dragged me towards Ricky's car and I watched as Athena stood on the sidewalk.

"Get in the car," Chase said as he climbed out of my car and I stood there.
I rubbed the wrist that he grabbed as he approached me and looked down at my hands. "What's wrong now?" He asked as I pulled up my sleeve and revealed the stitch line that travelled up to my elbow. His eyes widened as he gently took my wrist in my hand but I was too drunk to care for his sudden affection.
I quickly covered it and walked past him before entering the car.
I was training and practicing balance or something like that, and let's just say the instructors are never gonna make me balance glasses full of water again.
He got in and sighed as I waited for him to start driving. "I know what you're gonna say but you know what, I'm too drunk to have this conversation with you. Please drive," I said in a loud voice, but it came out as more of a whisper and he started the car and drove us home.
I felt myself passing out in the car as he parked in our driveway. Kat was up and she got out of the backseat and waddled up to the house.
My eyes were fully closed but I could still hear everything. The driver's door opened and I heard him pull out my car keys. "Hey, how was the ride back?"

"It was okay. They were both out and then Kat woke up," He said and they both paused. "Have you thought about what I said?" She asked him and he sighed. "I mean I don't know if she's willing to. I don't wanna push her,"
"We both kinda fucked up last year, well me more than you,"

"But I think it would be good for you guys to try and fix that friendship," She suggested in a quiet voice.
"I don't want to force her. You know she has stitches going up the wrist that I grabbed? I just keep hurting her and our friendship meant so much to me. I liked the way it was."

"Even though it wasn't easy, you got to me eventually and look at us now. Just give her time, she'll come around," Harley assured him and I heard the driver's door close.
I heard the click of my door open and I groaned as I tried to move onto the seat but the rush of alcohol went straight to my head and I found myself falling towards the direction of the open car door.
A pair of hands caught me with ease.
He leaned over and slowly undid my seatbelt and I rested my head on his chest. I sighed deeply as I smelt his strong cologne.
"Hey Athena," He said quietly and my eyes fluttered open as I looked around and Chase was looking at me. "Where are we?" I whispered as I rubbed my eyes and tried to look around. "We're home. Can you walk or should I-"
"I'll forgive you one day," I muttered without thinking.
Athena...what are you doing??
"Huh?" He asked in a confused voice. "Sure, I had a stupid crush on you, but I loved you like a brother. And then you left," I mumbled as my eyes closed again and I rested my head on the car seat. I felt his hand move my hair out of my face.
"Let's get you inside," He said softly and I felt myself being lifted out of the car. I found myself losing consciousness again as I heard my car door close.

"Woah, how much did she drink?" I muttered as Chase carried Athena through the front door and towards the stairs. "She'll be okay," He grunted as he lifted her up the stairs and Ricky handed me a water bottle.
"If you don't want a migraine, you should sober up," He suggested and I muttered incoherently as I took many small sips. "Come on, let's go upstairs," He said as he helped me off the couch and up the stairs.

"Hey," I muttered as I lifted my head from his chest and his eyes fluttered open as he looked at me with one arm resting on the back of his head. "Can't sleep?" He asked and I shook my head.
"I'm not expecting you to have an answer to this question by the way," I warned as I moved my hair away from my shoulder and he grinned as he adjusted it for me.
"Where did our powers come from?" I asked. His eyes widened for a fraction of a second and I took that as a no. "Sorry I asked. I just assumed that since you see the future, and past that maybe you'd know," I said softly and he sat up properly.
"I knew you'd be curious enough to ask," He teased as he held out both palms and a turquoise cloud formed just above his hands. My mouth widened slightly in awe as he used one hand to open up the cloud and it revealed an image.
I had no idea he could do that.
"It's said that our abilities are of Arabic descent, originated from an orb, called Almaramam, The Restorer," He explained softly and I listened intently as the cloud showed a large orb that reflected off of light and shone in radiant colours of green, purple and red.
"The orb was found by a group of ten. They were about our age, and it was seen as a weapon, as they didn't understand its true power,"
I shifted closer and crossed my legs so I could have a better view of what he was showing me. "Wait, ten? But there's only seven of us," I pointed out. "Well the original Inhumans were a team of ten," He explained and my head nodded slowly.
"So what happened?" I asked as I looked at him and his eyes glowed a bright turquoise as he gestured to the cloud and I turned my head to look at it.
"The orb released a powerful mist, that gifted them with special abilities," He said and I watched intently as the image showed seven beams of light shooting out of the orb in the centre of the image.
"They believed themselves to be cursed, as each ability showed destructive levels of power, but they were actually blessings,"
"As time grew on, those powers were passed down from generation to generation and the strength of the abilities grew weaker with every passing century, but not all of them," He said and I frowned slightly.
"Amongst the others, there was said to be a hierarchy, a ranking for the level of strength and once those powers reached a certain generation, they were amplified on a colossal scale. The top three were-" He continued as I pointed at the image of the orb.
"Red, for the spirit of fire. Green, for the spirit of energy. Purple, for the spirit of the mind," I muttered as I pointed at each colour that was visible on the orb and he nodded. "My great-grandmother told my mom these stories," I whispered.
But I never thought they'd be true.
"A great war raged in Bahrain, where the orb originated from, so they were forced to relocate, to Hungary. Some of the oldest families of powered individuals originated from Hungary." Ricky explained.
"Like Katalina?" I questioned as I recalled she was Hungarian and he nodded.
So she really is a descendant of the Originals...
"But as centuries passed, others had to have known about us. What were we called?" I asked as his eyes returned to normal. "Embertelen," He said in a clear accent. "It's Hungarian,"
"Otherwise known as?" I questioned.
