I cautiously moved around my house, with both hands at either side.

I've been fighting off these...beings for a while.

I have no idea what they are, but they might as well just be in my head. The bruises and cuts they give are real though. At first, they weren't, but the more I fought them off, the more real the bruises became. I heard screams echo down my corridor as I spun around. I was trying to sleep but was woken up by me, choking myself to death.

I hate how the demon that visits me the most is my own.

"Lunaaa!" an eerie voice yelled from behind me and I spun around as a tall fiery being attacked me. It aimed for my neck and I screamed as I dodged it and it swiftly rolled against my kitchen floor. One appeared on top of my kitchen island and hissed at me and I paused as I saw the same figure from last time.

"Stop running from me, Katalina," He said in a deep voice. "Shut up." I grumbled as I stuck out my hand and a stream of flames attacked it.

Its ashes fell to the floor and soon disappeared. I felt myself being kicked in the chest and I slid off my coffee table, knocking everything off it in the process, and landed in front of my couch.

"For fuck's sake!" I grumbled as I pushed my hair out of my face. I used my coffee table as a support as I cartwheeled over and knocked the demon on its side.

"I will come back for you," He reappeared as I blasted it. I heard my front door open and I used the last of my energy to blast the demon to ash. "What the hell was that?!" Beatrix screamed as she was shaking with terror.

Shit.

"Beatrix! Come in and sit down," I said gently but she edged away from me. "The hell am I going anywhere near you, y-you psycho dragon bitch," She cursed as she pointed towards my hands, hers shaking violently and I rolled my eyes.

She's already seen it. Might as well give her a show.

"Fine. I'll say it again," I said as my eyes glowed. "Sit on the goddamn couch!" I ordered and she jumped slightly and ran towards my couch and I blew out a breath as I shut my door.

"So what else can you do?" She questioned and I groaned. "You're not supposed to know anything, so why don't we pretend this never happened?" I said as I closed all the cupboards.

"If you want me to pretend like this never happened then you're gonna have to start talking," She said as she crossed her legs and rested her elbows on them, with a smirk.

I directed my hand at a used glass next to my sink. I blasted it and the glass disintegrated into shards. "Really? That's it?" She scoffed as she picked up her phone. I directed my focus on the phone and it started smoking in her hand. "What the hell?!" She yelped as she dropped her fried phone and I smiled as she glared at me.

"I've been here for over an hour," She whined. "So?" I questioned. "When's Nick coming?" She asked.

Nick isn't coming.

I didn't even call him.

He's a creepy sociopath and already knows my apartment complex. I cannot have him knowing my door number, otherwise, I'll probably wake up with him watching me sleep.

I've been stalling cause I need to figure out what I'm gonna do with her.

"Here's an idea," I perked up as I approached her on the couch. "Don't torch my hair. I just got it blown out," Beatrix warned and I rolled my eyes.

"I don't magically light up without realising," I reminded her. "So you can turn it on and off?" She asks curiously as I lift up my finger.

"On and off." I repeated as my finger lit up and the flame burned out just as fast. "So what's your bright idea?" She asked and I clasped my hands together.

"I am going to burn the memory out of your head," I said excitedly but Beatrix wore the opposite expression.

"You're crazy, you know that right?" She said and I scoffed. "I don't have options here. Just hold still," I advised as I focused my energy and closed my eyes.

"You've never done this before have you?"

"Nope."

"It's been 10 minutes, it's clearly not working!"

"I'll just give it another try! Here," I yelled as I touched her head but she helped in pain as she retracted away from me. "You're just burning me now!" Beatrix yelled.

I am so gonna get a noise complaint from this.

"Okay, just calm down. I know who to call." I said as I picked up my phone. "I want to go home," Beatrix repeated as I dialled a number. "You can't go home until today is burned out of your head!" I yelled back as the ringing stopped.

"Hello?"

"Harley! Hey, umm how fast can you get to my house?" I said quickly as Beatrix made loud, whiny noises. "In like a few minutes," She responded and the line cut. I stared at my phone weirdly before putting it down.

"Did you call another one of your powered friends?" She teased and I nodded and her mouth hung open.

"There's more of you?!" She shrieked and I shushed her as my doorbell rang. I quickly walked to the door and opened it. Harley walked in, still in uniform. "Did you even go home?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Nope. I've been stalking the outside of your house, actually." She said confidently and I raised my eyebrow.

She stopped as she noticed Beatrix. "Who's this?" Harley asked as she pointed to her. "Beatrix Lewis. Your fire friend is holding me hostage." Beatrix said politely. "What does she mean by-" Harley turned to ask me and I waved her off.

"Listen, I need you to get rid of a memory," I said to her and Harley's eyes widened. "Ooo, which one?" She asked as she moved towards me and I stopped her.

"I meant it when I said you're never entering my head," I warned as I pointed to her. "I meant her," I finished as I gestured to Beatrix. "You're kidding," She deadpanned and I nodded. "She saw something she wasn't meant to see," I said slowly as I scratched the side of my head.

"Oohhh, she saw you light up, didn't she?" Harley imitated my fire hands, except hers light up with purple trails.

"Oooo yours is purple?" Beatrix asked as she reached to touch Harley's hand. "Watch it kid, or I'll give you nightmares for a year," Harley warned and Beatrix's face fell. "I'm 14." She deadpanned and Harley shrugged.

"Everyone's afraid of something," She responded as she leaned closer to her, her eyes glowing a deep purple and Beatrix backed away.

"Okay, let's make this quick. What am I looking for?" Harley asked as she and Beatrix both headed for my couch. I closed and locked my front door before sitting on the single chair. "How about everything from today?" I suggested and Beatrix shook her head.

"No way. I kissed Asher Johnson today. I never want to forget that." She said as she held up her hand in defense. "Okay," Harley sniggered as she looked at me. "The last two hours," I answered and Beatrix sighed.

"Do you have to erase it? I mean this brought us closer as sisters, well soon to be." Beatrix teased and I sighed.

"Your brother and I are not going out," I reminded her and she nodded. "Of course, besides, what would the girlfriend think?" Beatrix added and Harley gave me a weird look.

She's smart but hopefully not smart enough to figure this one out.

"Okay then, the last two hours," Harley repeated before closing her eyes. She held out both hands facing upwards, and her hands started glowing. Purple trails of energy twisted and turned up her arms and Beatrix moved away in disgust.

"What is she doing?" She looked at me and I tilted my head to the side whilst looking at her. "I have no idea," I said slowly and Harley's eyes opened and shone purple. "Ready?" She asked Beatrix, who shrugged.

Harley placed a finger on the side of her head and Beatrix gasped as her pupils turned purple and Harley drummed her fingers on the table as she waited for a moment.

She removed her other hand and Beatrix returned to normal. "You okay?" I asked her and she shrugged. "I don't even know what I'm doing here," She said as she looked around my apartment and I sighed with relief.

"Why? You hiding something?" Beatrix asked curiously as I got up and went to my front door. "Nothing you didn't know before," I teased as I held the door open for her. "Your brother's waiting downstairs," I added and she got up.

No he's not.

But she'll figure out how to get home.

"Okay then, bye I guess." She said as she walked out of my apartment and I called her back. "You forgot this," I said as I held out her fried phone and she frowned in confusion as she slowly took the fried clump of metal from my hand.

"Bye now," I said with a smile as I shooed her and she left. I turned around and left the door open and waited for Harley to leave, but as I feared, she stayed on my couch.

"What? So I can't ask a friend for a favor without being bombarded with questions?" I asked as I leaned against my door and she crossed her legs and leaned back on my couch.

"Friends? That's what we are?" She questioned and I shrugged. "Didn't seem like it when you attempted to blast me to death." She reminded me and I sighed.

"I was never meant to hit you. I knew you'd duck anyways," I said truthfully and she raised her eyebrow. "But what if I didn't?" She questioned.

"But you did."

"But what if I didn't?"

"But you did."

"Why does she look so familiar?" Harley asked as she got up and gestured to the door. "She's a friend that I met on the road," I said simply. "And her brother?" She questioned. "You don't know him." I asked nonchalantly.

"I'll find out what you're hiding," She warned me with a serious look as she stopped in front of me.

"I'm sure you will," I said with a smile and she paused to ask another question but I shut my door behind her.
