Terrence Hood looked at the window of his office, witnessing the celebration being held by the entire nation as the war against the covenant had ended in a complete victory for both the UEG & ISC.

The covenant collapsed upon the death's of their prophet, the instigators of the war which had made humanity to look like sinners who committed crimes they have clearly falsified once information of the cause of the war were discovered.

No one in their government were happy about knowing these facts that they were used as scapegoat by the covenant, adding to just insane the covenants were leader and their plan for genocide.

Following a false belief because of some ancient technology that their ancestors possessed, alongside the old relics that the specie known as the Forerunners have left behind after a devastating war.

He still shivers at the image of the Flood a biological plague that sought to devour all life across the galaxy... it was appalling to know what would have happened had the Flood actually... won.

But this didn't come to pass as the Halos were fired, destroying all floods across the galaxy or so the they lead to believe... their own stupidity to leave a sample contained in their installations.

Was deemed stupid, knowing there isn't a cure for something that practically adapts and evolving to any counter that they make... it was only thanks to a 3rd party a much more advance civilization.

That ended the Floods threat from ever threatening all life the galaxy, Hood contemplates about the Zohars who are present and had been active since their war with the Covenants attacted them.

A race that had lead to the birth of their allies... the ISC a coalition of species who were friendly and aren't hostile, following the Zohar's will when asked, it seems worrying to know of their power.

Their influence over that many specie is nearly similar to the Covenant only their's more different, the Zohar's were a neutral and enigmatic faction none of them could fully understand who they were a concern that Hood does not care.

They have proven to be helpful and had been willing to help them, he sees no problem I letting them be... considering they are more powerful than the UEG and ISC combined, he believes that they were genuine and have no ill intentions.

It was obvious that it's just paranoia and greed due to the Zohar capabilities, their desire to claim such tech may be reasonable given they've just finished a war against the covenant who were now fractured and divided into many group.

However the Zohars were not fools and were likely aware of some officers in their military with their attempts to claim their technology... which failed in every attempt they make to obtain one.

They're luckily enough that they weren't being retaliated for their attempts or the Zohar may have just found this amusing and played with the fools, no doubt they were the cause of those leaked evidence, that saw those corrupt officers, arrested.

Hood doubts they'll be able to get any of the Zohar's technology much less get close to them, given they have vanished before the ceremony that was held to award them for helping all of humanity.

He chuckled, knowing about the woman named Selene, her words echoed in his mind 'we were always here, yet never were.' Confusing to some but he knew of the message that Selene had given them.

One thing he'd learned is that the Zohar are full of surprises... and surprise they were of everything that has happened... up to their disappearance after they had negotiated with the UEG and ISC leader.
