The remaining force was overwhelming, even for Y/N. He couldn't see himself tangling with powerhouse Grimm while also dealing with Oedon.

His first move was simple and critical; he needed to trim down their numbers.

Sovereign's hilt glowed brightly; the ancient gem at the end of the grip clued Oedon in on what he was planning next.

Outpacing the rest of the Grimm, he came in with a savage swipe of his new claws; their edge was more than enough to tear Y/N to shreds.

Y/N jumped, high and beyond their reach. While falling to the desert floor, he reached out with his free hand, grabbing the summit of a nearby mountain with his magic and shutting his hand into a tight fist.

Soaring clean over the swarming Grimm, he landed in a crouch while digging his fist straight into the ground, directing his monumental attack.

Hearing the crash and deep rumble above them, Oedon ran, knowing even his improved armor wouldn't withstand a speeding boulder.

Just like in the original plan, Y/N brought down the nearest mountain, raining down massive clumps of stone that rolled over and crushed a fair number of Grimm.

Seeing a cloud of dust beginning to form, Y/N swiped his sword, blowing away lingering debris and causing lighter Grimm to brace under the deadly winds.

With boulders scattering the battlefield, Y/N now how viable cover from the majority of the Grimm, cutting their effectiveness in battle by half and increasing it twofold for others.

Dipping his head to the side, Y/N avoided a head-sized rock thrown his way by a raging Beringel.

In his time as a Huntsman, he knew these beasts had to be taken by a team, but anyone with enough speed or strength could dispatch them with relative ease. Unfortunately for the gorilla-like Grimm, he had both.

The Beringel came charging forward, lobbing a couple more rocks on his way in.

Ducking and rolling past the primitive attack, Y/N waited for him to near, hiding his hand behind his back while doing so.

Once the monster had crossed the distance, the survivors came swarming through the ruined valley; some strange horse-like Grimm jumped straight over as well.

The Beringel neared in no time, swiping its long arm in a broad attack and following it through with a slam once Y/N dashed backward, avoiding both.

In the small window it was bent forward and standing straight; Y/N attacked, sprinting ahead in a blur and closing his fist around its face.

Placing his boot behind the Beringel's foot, he pushed, tripping it and slamming it into the ground.

The lumbering beast screamed as it writhed in the sand, pawing at its burning face with popping flames in the shape of a human hand.

Y/N leaped forward, bending a raised knee and kicking the monster with all his might, causing it to shoot off and tumble along the ground before suddenly bursting in a massive explosion, further cutting down their numbers.

A loud crash of thunder echoed over the valley, bringing heavy rain that settled the dirt and made the boulders slick with moisture.

Y/N took a deep breath as Oedon leaped over the fallen boulders, covered in electricity and fire. Alongside him were the recovering Grimm, half strong and determined to kill Y/N or die trying.

Oedon ran straight for Y/N with a ferocious growl, confident in his new abilities.

The Great One overstepped his boundaries; facing a weapon such as the Moonlight Greatsword was his final and grave mistake.
