My beautiful Reader.

I love you more than words can describe,

More than this author can write,

More than they can ever dream to write.

I love every inch of you,

Every inch of your soul and mind and body.

But alas,

You are too smitten with the main character.

You don't notice me on the side,

Gazing up at you with pure, utter admiration and adoration.

You can only see them,

Because after all,it's their story, not mine.

You're reading for them,

For their story.

Not mine,

The misery-ridden,cast away tale that even the stars can't recall.

You're too caught up with them,

I can see it in your beautiful, shimmering eyes.

You're absorbed by their dazzling charm and stunning abilities to notice me,

The side character who just can't find their place in the story.

My heart aches each time I see you swoon over something the main character does so amazingly,

When I can barely keep your attention for more than five sentences.

My soul cracks each time I hear your angel's laughter when the main character cracks a joke,

When I can't even make you smile at my stupidity or ignorance.

I break down when your tears hit the pages because the main character,

Oh the glorious main character has fallen.

I break down when I hear your sobs,

Because you couldn't even cast me a worried, two second glance as I harm myself beyond fixing.

I break down when I hear your sobs,

Not because I'm mourning for the fallen hero,oh no.

It's because I've fallen deep, deep in love with you,

My beautiful Reader.

I want nothing more than to hug you,

To breathe in your heavenly aura as I pull you close to comfort.

I want to kiss you and tell you it'll be alright when the book finally ends,

To smooth your ruffled hair down and wipe away your tears to say I'll stay.

I want to hold you close to me,

To whisper calming words in your ear to reassure you that everything is going to be okay.

I want to kiss every marr on your skin,

Because you would only turn to this book if you were damaged and breaking.

It's why you loved the main character,

And envied whom they fell in love with because it wasn't you.

I want to cuddle with you under a blanket,

And read you the last chapters of this book.

Because they are the most beautiful chapters in the whole work,

In my opinion.

The lonely, depressed, and broken character finds who he belongs with,

But there's just one hitch.

Like all books where the main character dies,

There isn't a happy ending.

Because the character remembers that whom he fell for,

Is far too real.

Whom he fell in love with isn't made of words, letters, and thoughts,no.

They were made of flesh, blood, and memories.

Because I,my beautiful Reader,

Fell in love with you.
