"Shut that dang bird up!" a high ranking human commanded. A moment later, one of the soldiers whacked the side of the cage, shutting Taron up.
Trembling fearfully, Taron whimpered. How had everything come down to this? Everything was fine, now it wasn't. She was exiled, probably no one was coming to save her, she was separated from her eggs and her mate.
She was all alone.
"I don't want to die..." Taron whimpered softly, closing her eyes. She cried quietly, tears rolling down her face. She laid down in the cage, ignoring her hunger and the cold. The phoenix cried, wanting Rodan to be here with her. She couldn't stand this loneliness. She attempted to reach out with her connection. A faint glimmer of contact but too weak of a signal. No one could hear her.
Lonely, she kept crying.
