Rodan was sleeping when he heard someone arrive at his volcano. Blinking his yellow eyes open, he glanced around drowsily. His vision blurry with sleep, he couldn't see much. But there was someone here. Heaving himself to his feet, he mumbled, "Who's there?"
"A friend," Taron's voice chirped. His eyes snapping open, Rodan lifted his gaze. Peering down at him was the black red and white bird of prey. Dropping down into the volcano's crater, Taron smiled and purred, "Miss me?"
"Yeah I did but... what are you doing here chica?" Rodan asked. He stepped closer as he continued, "I thought you were at the party with everyone." Giggling quietly, Taron bumped her head against his shoulder playfully as she explained, "I was but I didn't want to be there. I want to be here with you."
"You what?" Rodan stuttered, shocked. Finding his tongue, he asked, "Why?" Nuzzling his cheek, Taron replied, "Because I love you silly." His heart skipping a beat, Rodan relaxed and nuzzled the phoenix back as he murmured, "I love you too beautiful."
