Diving headfirst into the pool of boiling hot lava and resurfacing a moment later, Rodan let out a huge sigh of relief. This is just what he needed right now. It had been a long day for the massive prehistoric reptile.

It had actually been a long six months.

Ever since the Battle of the False King, the Titans who had sided with him had been pardoned for their crimes of treason. Every single one of them. But that didn't mean the others trusted them. As time went on though, the King of the Monsters and all those who remained loyal to him had regained their trust in the ones who had answered the False King's Alpha Call. Behemoth, Scylla, Methuselah, MUTO, Kraken, Leviathan, the Leafwings. The Skullcrawlers too, except Kong still didn't trust them. All of the traitors, except for one.

Rodan.

No matter how hard he tried, Rodan couldn't regain anyone's trust, not even from the others who had answered the Alpha Call. And he was pretty sure he knew the reason why. He had been the first to answer the call. He had been the first to bow before the False King when the almighty Godzilla had been struck down by human technology and failed to resurface. He was the False King's loyal second in command, doing everything he was told no matter how he felt about the order or the consequences that followed. He had willingly attacked Mothra, the Queen of the Monsters herself. He had done all of that and now had to live with the consequences of his mistakes.

Leaning back against the edge of the lava pool, Rodan gazed up at the mid afternoon sky. A bunch of little seabirds flew on by, calling loudly to each other. The One Born of Fire growled quietly. He was jealous of those birds, being able to fly around without a care in the world while he had to constantly look over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't going to be ambushed. He may have returned to his volcano in Isla de Mara and secluded himself from the rest of the Titans but that didn't mean his wishes were respected. Everyone saw him as a traitor and that's all they ever saw now. Not like he cared what the others thought of him anymore.

Getting as comfortable as he could, Rodan was about to fall asleep when he heard a very familiar mighty roar.
