The anger and hurt I saw in Alex's eyes were frightening me. It looked like he would be willing to do anything without any limits to stop him. I still had the Jace issue and had to somehow solve the situation before Jace woke up again. However, I was not tempted to talk to Alex about it due to his current state of mind.

My failed mission to find a solution quick made me frustrated, so I decided to leave the room to let Alex be alone for a while. I did not expect to walk directly into someone when stepping out from the room, especially not someone as scary as this guy. He was very tall, had a well-built body, tanned skin and brown eyes. His hair was ebony coloured and undercut precisely. His alluring appearance reminded me of someone, and it did take me a while before I realized who he looked like... Alex.

The male I met glanced at me for a split second only before he walked past me. He didn't bother to say a word to me or even pretend to know that I excited. To me, he appeared as a very superior person that took no interest in other people. However, I felt somewhat relieved that he walked past me. There was something about the huge height difference and the look on his face that intimidated me.

I was too curious about the stranger that had come to talk with Alex to stay away. Since Alex had just told me that his brother was coming, I assumed it was him. I also figured because of the resemblance between the two of them.

Normally, I would go ask for Alex's advice or help, but I couldn't this time. I was reliant on making the right decision by myself somehow. The question now was; what the hell is the right decision to make? Should I lock Jace in? Tell his sister what I did? Talk with Xavier? Nothing sounds good right about now.

I decided to check on Xavier, considering his current situation. Knocking Jace out at the time Xavier needed him the most felt cold and heartless, but I had to do it to save Nikkie and to prevent excessive drama that I alone could not handle. My voice would drown in raging vampires' voices that would want Nikkie dead no matter what.

"Where's Jace?" Xavier muttered as I entered. The floor beneath my feet creaked, bringing sound to the silent room. "Downstairs," I answered shortly. "With whom?" he asked, swallowing oddly. He wasn't looking angry or upset, in fact, he was looking relatively feelingless. "His sister, I presume." Xavier looked up with his red puffy eyes and stiff face. "Do you want to know?" he asked absently. "Know what?" I frowned. His eyes flickered, and his head tilted to one side. "Well, do you?" he whispered. "Xavier you're acting weird," I said worriedly. He chuckled softly: "If your brother died as a consequence of something you did you'd be acting weird too." "No, no, you couldn't know," I said sympathetically. He scoffed, getting up from the bed: "I'll let you see later." I had no clue what he was rambling about. The way he was speaking was so calm yet so creepy and cold, meaning it couldn't be anything good.

Xavier kept shut after his sentence, even though I continuously asked him questions. His absent and silenced behaviour had me both concerned and afraid. He suddenly cleared his throat, catching my attention. His eyes moved towards the door, and his back straightened as his arms crossed. As feared, the door opened, exposing a furious Jace. "I can explain," I stammered. He moved closer slowly, creating an unsafe and intimidating atmosphere. "Dizary," a male's voice spoke. The voice wasn't familiar, not the slightest. It was a dark voice with a British accent. Jace's glowering face immediately turned expressionless. "Turn around," the male said. Jace obeyed like a pet and turned to face the guy. "Why is it that you're wasting your time on some human?" he asked. Jace cleared his throat but didn't get out a word.

The man who was now showing his face hadn't come to stop Jace from hurting me. I believe this was Alex's brother, only here to inform Jace of whatever information he had. As it seemed, this person couldn't care less about my presence or what happened to me. He didn't look at me once, nor did he mention my name, he only referred to me as "some human".

Xylan was his name - Xylan Caizar. He left with Jace to do something too secretive for me to know. "Why was Jace angry with you?" Xavier asked. "He's always angry with me. This time, I'm guessing it's because I'm here with you." Xavier nodded, but I couldn't quite comprehend his facial expression. Therefore, I had no idea whether he believed me or not. "Hell is about to break loose, you know," he halfway muttered. My eyebrows narrowed, forming a beginning frown. Xavier heightened his head and looked directly over at me: "As you know, Alex is being taught how to be... errr... the right leader by Jace... now, who do you think taught Jace?"
