"He wears it every day, well, now he does. He probably didn't when he first met you, because he wasn't chosen back then. In addition, he was weaker." "This is straight up crazy," I exhaled sharply. "The ring is extremely painful to wear, but it builds up strength, a better resistance to silver. That's not the main point of wearing it though. It's the leader ring," Dane told me. "Then why are you wearing one?" I frowned. "It's Hayden's ring. I'm wearing it because I'm not ready to face the fact that he'll be our leader. It's complicated, just, never mind." "Wait, you're vampires just like Alex?" I stuttered. "We're good vampires. It's different," he answered quickly. "How can draining humans from blood possibly be good?" I scoffed, shaking my head. "Animals, not humans," he corrected me. "And we don't drain them," the blonde girl from earlier said as he entered the room. "Right," I nodded as if what I just heard was completely normal. Being shocked from that would be weird considering what I've heard the past 24 hours.
